About

Henry Stauf's mansion has been abandoned for as long as anyone dare remember. Stauf was a master toy maker, a maker of amazing puzzles and this strange house was his greatest creation. Now the mansion stands empty, rotting ever since the children started dying, ever since the six guests came. Now there are only the eerie lights and the terrible sing-song rhymes of the children.
And suddenly, you are in the house. You move from room to room, step-by-terrifying-step, as scenes from that night of horror come to life. Because Stauf's game isn't over. There were six guests the world knew about - and there was one other. Stauf's mad mansion lives again. And only you can end the nightmare and learn the secret of The 7th Guest.
This Award-Winning Game Features:
Groundbreaking use of full-motion video and dialogue recorded by live actors in a terrifyingly real virtual environment.
Old Man Stauf's bizarre puzzles to solve and games to play.
22 Stunningly rendered, devilishly surprising, 3-D rooms await you in this fully explorable haunted mansion.
2 CDs of extensive gameplay with an original musical score.

The 7th Guest reviews and comments

Oh my this FMV game has aged quite a bit and not in a good way. The various cutscenes are supposed to be quirky and spooky but really just come off as hokey and awkward. The puzzles meanwhile really are across the board both in difficulty and likeability with some particular ones being unnecessarily mean (Those... Soup... Cans... AGH).

Its worth picking up if you happen to like old adventure games but for anyone else, probably skip to something a little more logical and less fustrating.

Cult PUR!!! My second PC game (386s) to Inca. In the Meantime, it has an effect. But one Compares the many Years between then and now ... The Technology that was possible at that time and that is now possible ... The felt Size of 7th Guest at that Time to that of Games of today ... The Horror Factor that was possible at that time to what is now possible ... The Multimedia Performance of the 7th guest to the of today ... So ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥--at all Games that are currently coming out high against 7th guest starting!!! For Nostalgists and all Those who remember may like a clear Buy-must!!! Clear Thumbs up:-)

After about 45 Minutes in two runs, I had to put the Game aside. The "bad" Graphics are not the Problem with this Game, that is simply due to Time and it does not hinder playing. However, I had a big Problem with the slow Non-breakable Animations. For example, if you have clicked on a Mask Symbol and started a Dialogue, the Mask does not always disappear. Therefore, it could be a new Dialogue that you do not want to miss. Well, misthought and you have to listen to a Conversation for a minute. The Movement Animations are also very slow, which is very annoying just when you think you have overlooked something. If you have to try something with certain Puzzles, because you simply don't know how it works yet, it's all the more annoying when you do two Clicks, you sit back the Puzzle and you have to listen to the Explanation again before you can try it again. Furthermore, one has to get used to the fact that the Skeletal Hand (the Cursor) does not reach where the Finger ends, but in the Middle of the Hand. Otherwise, however, I only heard Good things about the Story. So If You can live with the artificial Time-eaters, I can't:-(

A Classic of Game History that has made History itself. If you know and love the Game From before, or are looking For a challenging Puzzle adventure, there's nothing wrong here. In the Game you run from Room to Room, solve different Puzzles (intelligence and Patience games) and thus open new Spaces that were previously closed. If you can't get on with a Spartout puzzle, there is a Book in the Library (one of the First Rooms on the ground floor), which gives solution Aids by clicking on it and solves the puzzle itself at the third click. In Between, there are always indented Scenes with real Actors telling the Story. Partly a little confusing, since the Scenes are not necessarily shown in the right Order (if you want to know the complete Story, I recommend the Book!). Unfortunately, many younger Players or New Entrants to the Genre probably won't like it. The Game is from 1993 with corresponding Graphics and Sound. Pro:-very good Puzzles-atmospheric-Classics-Good Music (1993!) Kontra:-Scen/Dialogue you can't skip Graphics and Sound I intentionally don't consider as a counter. On the Contrary: The Game is, as mentioned, from 1993 and by then These were absolutely top!
The puzzles are difficult and the idea is interesting, but unskippable cutscenes/dialogue ruin the pacing of the game. Whenever you need to restart a puzzle or try again you have to watch the video and listen to the narrator/characters. You also have slow dragging videos whenever you turn around or go somewhere. These unskippable bits really make the game tedious, so it's only worth sitting through if you really like the puzzles/story.
