The Last of Us Part II Remastered reviews and comments

Even though the story doesn’t quite measure up to the first part of the game, the graphics and gameplay more than make up for it. The world-building is incredibly well done and it never feels boring or linear, like just walking a straight path. The game mechanics are also really engaging, especially the freedom to make your own path, use stealth, crafting, and so on. I also liked how the gameplay blends with interactive cutscenes, which keeps you immersed. Showing both Ellie’s and Abby’s sides was a great decision. At first, you really hate Abby, but once you see things from her perspective, your feelings start to change, which I thought was powerful storytelling. I wasn’t a big fan of the ending though—it was too sad. I really wish Joel hadn’t died.
