TRANSFORMERS: Rise of the Dark Spark reviews and comments

Fall of Cybertron has trumped its Predecessor in everything. So It is understandable that the Successor's Expectations would be correspondingly high. But those Expectations were not met. However, I never have too high Expectations. The Main Thing about the Game is Fun for me. And it has, for the most part. Not so much as his two Predecessors. The Game uses the same Gameplay and Character Models as Fall of Cybertron. Therefore, you quickly become familiar with the Game. You can think of this Game as a Kind of Expansion Pack. Basically, it is. But two Key Factors unfortunately far too modest for many to satisfy Fans of the Series: Design and Balance. The Game is not very nice to watch. Especially on Earth, the Levels look really desolate and monotonous. Like something from earlier Times of Gaming. Cybertron Levels look significantly better, but not nearly as good as in its Predecessors. Not everyone has the same Attention to Detail. Besides, the Game is poorly balanced, because often it is not particularly fair to the Player. There is much Worse, but those who have played FOC before will quickly realize that you will be significantly more Damaged in this Game. A experienced Player will find his way around quite well and it's all feasible, but for most that will lead to Frustrations. So You have to bring some Patience. You use the same Weapons as in FOC, but this time you can't just mop up your Weapons like that, but you have to earn experience points to get some boxes that INCLUDE VIELLEIGHT an Upgrade for the Weapon you're using right now or a new One Character for Escalation Mode unlocks, which is the only Multiplayer Mode. You get Points for all Sorts of Things and the Price in the Boxes is arbitrary. Improving yourself in the Game is pure a Matter Of luck. It's much more like an Arcade/Arena Shooter. The Story campaign is built in the same Way as in FOC. You slip into the Role of a single, predetermined Character and in The course of the Story you play a different Character, whether Autobot or Decepticon. The Difference, though, is that you don't just change the Role and the Side, you change the Timeline. Half the Story takes place on Earth and you slip into the Role of The Autobots from the Transformers movies. Or so it at least seems. This is one Thing that confuses many Players, because even though the Characters look like they did in the fourth Transformers movie, so this Story has no Connection to the Movies. The Game and the Film have too many Contradictions to each other, so they can't possibly belong to the same Continuity. Furthermore, the Events on Cybertron do not play in The same Universe as the Events on Earth, because the Dark Spark is Able to travel to other Universes. Therefore, one should not allow yourself to be Misled by this. The other Half plays out on Cybertron and PLACES itself chronologically between WFC and FOC, with little Contradiction. It's great, at least, that you slip into the Role of Characters you couldn't play in FOC. Nevertheless, the Selection is once again very limited. This is especially disappointing when you have to play two Levels again with Swindle, who you already played in FOC for two Levels. At Least you can play as Bruticus again. The Selection of "Earth" Characters is even more limited. Whoever hoped to slip into the Role of Crosshairs or Hound, I have to disappoint, Because Optimus, Bumblebee, Drift and Grimlock are the only Autobots on Earth and you play each of them. Similar to WFC, you often have AI Supporters, but this Game is not designed for Co-op. There are also no nice Innuendo as in the Predecessors. The Fan Service in this Game is zero. The Game doesn't even have Nostalgia to offer. But the Dialogues on Cybertron were still quite OK. Unfortunately, the Game also has Problems with the Volume. The Intermediate Scenes are pretty quiet, while the Game itself is quite loud. It's just a bad Port from an average Game. This Game is mightily overpriced and like FOC it is VIEL too short, except that this time the Seasoning is also missing. I think it's worth a Look, however. The Game is OK in itself, but not inexpensive. If you are a Fan of the Series, you can do this Part, but you shouldn't have high Expectations and definitely wait for a Sale.
