Villagers is a really nice Build-up Game from my Point of view. Yes, the Similarity to Banished is there, as many others have already said, but from my Point of view, that doesn't pose a really big Problem. I like the Playfulness at Villagers, which reminds me much more of the old settler titles than it did with Banished. I often caught myself just forgetting everything left and right just to look over the Shoulders of fishermen at Work. Something I was missing from Banished, it was often just too depressed and the numerous Bugs were annoying-constantly the Seasons changed, after Summer suddenly came deepest Winters and I could watch my Villagers die. This has not happened to Me so far at Villagers, although it is just as demanding, the Field industry needs a lot of Attention, but nevertheless the Replay value after a Defeat is much higher, simply because the Optics reward you and give me the small, fine Details liked. Finally another Game with Wound Factor.
Pro: + beautiful Graphics with Wound Factor + demanding + high Replay value + Villagers are Individuals: With Names, professions, Feelings & Needs + many nice Details + traceable Seasons (not constantly changing) + nice Easteregg;)
Kontra:-Field Management needs a lot of Attention-Maps relatively small

So I have to say I like the Game so far. I started with a free Game and I think my People won't survive next Winter:D But that's ok, I'll start all over again;)
Here are a few Things that make the Game attractive to me: + it's not too complicated and easy to learn (I didn't understand some Things right away due to the missing Tutorial, but after a While you then go on a Light) + the Villagers have Names , an Age, a partner, ... In this Way you can follow their Fate and see how their Lives are going + the Graphics do not shine with overly detailed Textures, but there is still a lot to discover when Zooming in, Which makes the Village seem lively and not static (Laundry hangs on a Leash, Lights go on and off, Villagers interact with each other, ...)
+ Events ... So far I have only noticed a few (Merchants, a Plague, Robbers, attack of wild Animals, ...) and I bet there are Some more Who expect me only criticism so far:-no Tutorial, only in a few Tips (I guess I should have played through the Fight Beforehand And not to venture to the free Game right away)-the (standard) map is very small and I couldn't build a Quarry anywhere (there was no Indication of Size and raw Material Deposits when choosing, if I remember correctly). I very much hope that not all Maps are so tiny, otherwise it would be quick with the Expansion of the Village ^^ Overall, however, my first Impression is positive and I will continue to play-Whether the Game offers long-term Fun will still show.
