Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Winter Assault is the first expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. It’s a real-time strategy about the war on the planet of Lorn V. The expansion added new maps and the Imperial Guard race to the game and simplified some game mechanics and units.

You can take control of one of five races: Orks, Eldar, Chaos, Space Marines, and the Imperial Guard. The plot is divided into the Order storyline and the Disorder storyline, represented by different races. No matter what path you choose, the game starts with the confrontation of these sides; you have to deal with the consequences of their battle and make decisions that will affect the story.

The game features such classic RTS aspects as building a base and technology development. However, the gameplay focuses on tactics. Every race in the game has its unique units you can use during missions. As a rule, it’s not the entire army that takes part in battles, but a limited amount of units. To be efficient you need to manage these units separately.

Instead of fighting with Space Marines against Orks/Chaos now, we are now being sent with the Imperial Army and the Eldar and the Front and behind the enemy lines! For the first time you can choose between two Sides (Gerechte/Ketzer

Great expansion that adds a fifth faction playable to what is seen so far in Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War, the Imperial Guard, for me, Amos and lords of this expansion, but during the 2 minicampañas that brings control a total of 4 races (Imperial Guard/ORCS/E Ldars/Space Marines of Chaos) With a couple of appearances of Ultramarines and the appearance of a non-playable breed of which I will not speak to not fuck the surprise. The Two Minicampañas are divided in this way:-Campaign of the Order: we Control alternatively to Imperial Guard and Eldars during four missions, to choose one of the two races in the fourth mission changing the fifth mission in function of with whom we play. -Disorder Campaign: We alternately Control Orcs and Space Marines from chaos (the remainder equal to the previous campaign). With What we have a total of 10 missions (12 if we play all the finals) In terms of history: The events unfold in Lorn V an icy planet that is currently in the hands of chaos and where secretly trapped a powerful war machine calls Da Titan, apparently this fact is only known by the Imperial Guard. Chronologically Speaking the Chaos campaign begins earlier, with a new ORC warlord uniting the various tribes of Orcs on the planet to summon a Whaaaaag (a kind of crusade), something that greatly annoys (poses a threat) to the Marines of Chaos, Which begin a war against the Orcs. In the midst of this war appears the Sturn General of the Imperial Guard with the Regiment 42 of Imperial Guards of Cadia (this faction is the backbone of the forces of the emperor) beginning the invasion of the planet and loading to Xenos (alien races) and Heretics (Marines of chaos) alike to arrive Hjasta the Titan and rescue him (moment in which the remainder of the factions of the existence of the same one find out). In the midst of all the scrubbing are also the Eldars collaborating with the Guard when it suits them. Therefore each faction has its own goal, but only one can win. Recommended without hesitation, and remember we are Imperial Guards:-Life is the currency of the Emperor, spend it wisely.
