About

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Soulstorm is the third and final expansion for 2004 strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. Unlike two previous expansions (Winter Assault and Dark Crusade), it was not developed by Relic Entertainment, but by Iron Lore Entertainment.
Being the expansion of Dawn of War, the gameplay in Soulstorm is similar to the original game. It is a real-time strategy combat-focused game based on the tabletop wargame Warhammer 40,000. The players have to build bases, train units, obtain upgrades, gather recourses and fight with enemies, strategically using unique traits of different units.
The main difference in Soulstorm is the addition of two new factions: all-female imperial division Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar – a faction of Eldar space pirates with apparent sadistic tendencies. It also features new aerial type of units for every fraction, the new campaign and few new mechanics and gameplay tweaks.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm reviews and comments

Warhammer® 40.000: dawn of war®-Soulstorm the gameplay in two words: RTS and EPIC the most: + despite a graphics engine that begins to date dawn of war has nothing to envy to a "StarCraft 2", it still remains as enjoyable to watch and the animations are really TG Nial. + Never has a RTS proposed as many playable factions, there is for all tastes, whether in the look and feel as the gameplay. + The army customization system is really nice and remains loyal to the spirit "Games Workshop". + The doublings are cult and the sound effects are excellent. + The various solo campaigns will occupy you long hours, with a special mention for those of the extensions "dark crusade" and "Soulstorm" and their aspect "total war". The less:-it is true that the multiplayer mode begins to depopulate, but a good part between buddies always remains as fun (compared to the boredom that one can feel on some RTS more modern but of lesser quality). -A great regret shared by the whole community: the cruel absence of "Tyrannides" despite the many Add ons, which leaves us a little on our hunger. -No compatibility with the "steam workshop" and will probably never be, which is a pity. Lifespan: dozens and dozens of hours both solo and multiplayer. My evaluations are written in a comprehensive manner. They encompass the basic game and all of its DLC.

One of my favorite Warhammer 40k games (by adding the ultimate Apocalypse Mod) my evaluation will be based on the modded game (indeed I can not do without this MOD) the cool stuff:-many playable factions (Space Marines, Space Marines of chaos , Eldars (Craftworld now), black Eldars (Drukhari), Necrons, Tau, inquisition, chaos demons, Orks, Imperial Guard, battle sisters, Tyranids)-a good respect for the lore-each faction has its own mechanics that make it unique, more than there are several possibilities to play the same faction, which makes a panel of options very interesting, everyone will find his account-the game is strategic and very enjoyable to play with friends-big battles as we like them-the mod community is still active and the eloppers are still working on it to improve it (they are listening to the return of the players in addition!) The less cool stuff:-the engine of the game is getting a little old, we see some bugs of collisions-sometimes the units respond badly, and the flying units tend to get stuck in the ripe (but in the course of correction, and corrected for some troops)-the EQ Balancing is not yet at the top but the dev y work in conclusion: an excellent strategy game dealing with the universe of Warhammer 40k, initiated to the universe or new you are welcome. Although the game has some worries due to its age there is nevertheless a safe value regarding the games 40k.
