gameplay is too repetetive. you are killing zombies in the late game basically the same way you were on the beginning. only new guns and slighlty different enemies. no creativity no new mechanics no good story. keep going and kill waves of bullet sponge enemies. exploration and puzzle parts didnt suck.
There are wolves who drop gold when you killed them for some reason, a weapon-selling-NPC who keeps following you while always transporting torch with purple fire and a table full of stuff, for some reason the storage has enough room for all of your weapons but you can't store bullets and other small stuff in it, there's a beast who can't hear you breaking jars to collect loot but will hear you breathing if you just stand in the same room as he is, a whole town full of people who can only say like 5 phrases over and over, and I haven't even finished the game yet

This is a fantastic game that really captures the magic of the original while adding some new things and making it just a bit creepier. The acting and story are top notch and the replay value is very high with the unlocks and Mercenaries mode. Really hope they continue this trend for the rest of the games.

Very fun gameplay.
Really tight gameplay loop and very varied and challenging enemies.
The story is not bad, but it won't surprise you by any means. Very run-of-the-mill action movie plot.
I liked this version of Ashely more than the original because:
- I felt the time she accompanied us was not long. There are a lot of sections where we are on our own, so these sections give a small feeling of horror.
- She is more mature and less annoying.
Overall, I would easily recommend this game to anyone who didn't play the original, and to anyone who played the original and loved it and has some 15 hours to spend.
My rating for it is a 8/10. Very good.
