Europa Universalis IV by Paradox One of the best Strategy game that has been sclimbing my Screen in over 20 Years of gaming experience. Story & Gameplay I start with the Story, because there are none. If you are looking for a Campaign, you are looking for AN EU IV in vain. It's more about starting in 1444 with any Nation that existed at the Time and then trying its Luck until 1821. Whether you are simply trying to survive with a small Country like Hesse or trying to conquer the whole world, you are completely self-evident. By The way, it is not only Europe that is at your disposal, even if the Name suggests so. If you want to start with one of the Japanese Daymios or see how far you can get with a Native American Tribe, you can do so at any time. The Game takes place in Real time, but can always be paused in Order to react appropriately to events (E.g. Death of the Ruler, declaration of War, etc.) or to weigh decisions calmly. At the Speed of the Game you have 5 different Levels, some of which you hardly need at all and others very often, depending on what is going on in the World. There is actually always something going on, which means that the Game also requires permanent Attention and punishes you without gland if you are not careful. Alliances want to be forged and preserved, because one is very quickly thrown up, especially at the Beginning of The game. Claims want to be fingered and Lands conquered. By the Way, the battles are automatically fought by the Computer, with some Factors, such as Luck, the Values of the General (if any), Terrain Mali and a few other Things playing a role. In addition, research needs to be done and Ideas developed further. With The help of the latter, you can then also partially access special Game Mechanics such as Colonization and, above all, individualize your Style of Play. But you can never ignore your Economy all around it, at least if you don't want to get into debt until the whole Country collapses. Religion must not be ignored, either. Not only does the Unrest in the Country arise when there are too many people of Different Faiths, Belonging to a particular Religion could also lead you straight into a War. In Short, the Game is not only incredibly profound, in almost every Area, the individual Areas are also very closely and comprehensibly linked and require, which one has a Constant view of the Overall Situation and always acts in a foresight. By the Way, I would like to criticise the incredibly bad Tutorial after you are not really smarter. Who you start a Game right after the Do, you should be prepared to fail gloriously. It makes more Sense to watch a Tube on Youtube or a Lets Play And only then enter the Game. I would also like to Highlight the Issue OF DLC. I wouldn't recommend this Game without DLC! Art of War and Wealth of Nations are extential in my View. In fact, all content DLC's improve the Game significantly. If you want to get up to The EU IV, you should therefore also put a little more money aside, and even since you are still being pushed back on it. Graphics & Sound The Graphics are paradoxical typically very useful. With the Help of DLC, some Units can still be washed up, but in my Opinion this is quite pointless, because the Graphics are not one of the Strengths of this Game either way. The Soundtrack is great. After All, after more than 900 Hours of Playing, he has never got on my Nerves before. Some pieces of Music I can even listen to in Continuous Loop. Some Events also have a very special Sound effect, so that after a While you just know what has happened or could have happened (E.g. a drop in stability). Conclusion Actually, I could still write several Pages full, as the Game is just way too complex for a simple Review. My Tip: Watch a Lets Play And then decide (the Demo is not appropriate, so you shouldn't be advising it) if this Game is for you. In my Eyes, though, it's a Must have for Strategy Game fans! But once Again beware: As already mentioned, it would rather plan a little more Money. Even if you only have the current (Booth 09.10.18) 14! You can fetch indeals at an additional €215 approx. (Original Price). That's why I would advise you to buy the "Empire Founder Pack," as it already includes 3 good DLC.
