About

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a third-person shooter game developed by Capcom.

Plot

In the distant future, it is no longer possible to live on Earth. The NEVEC corporation plans to colonize a distant planet of E.D.N. III. Upon arriving on its surface, the NEVEC forces are met with resistance from an alien race called the Acrid and is forced to leave the planet. A second attempt to colonize E.D.N. is taken by NEVEC which has been preparing for the assault. It is revealed that the Acrid contain thermal energy within them. This energy is essential for the colonists' survival on the planet. Civilian colonists and soldiers call themselves the Snow Pirates and try to make the planet habitable.

Gameplay

It is possible to play the game either in first-person or third-person modes. The players are able to travel the in-game world on foot or using mechs that are equipped with heavy weapons such as the Gatling machine gun or rocket launchers.

Thermal energy is used for powering the mechs and several weapons. The players have to keep an eye out on their energy level as the planet's harsh conditions and bad weather drain it down. In order to get more thermal energy, the players have to kill the Acrid or activate the data transfer posts. If the player has no thermal energy left, they die.

The game also features a multiplayer mode. For game modes are present, and the depletion of the player's thermal energy reserve does not result in instant death.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition reviews and comments

The game itself is great. I bought the PC version to migrate the highlights of my PS3 collection to a more future proof platform. I will only discuss the port. For a PC version of a Capcom title, the port is pretty good. The DX9 version runs at maximum settings at 1920x1080 at 60-120 fps (GTX 970m, i7 4810MQ) with some drops to 55, if there are a lot of particles on the screen. The problem is, that a game in a world of snow storms will often have a lot of particles going on, so you might want to reduce one of the quality settings. It recognized my X360 wireless gamepad and the Dualshock 3 via the SCP driver flawlessly. I have tested KB/M only for a minute, but it felt fine.

A very nice Game that is nice and Active. The Japanese Manga Stalk is very recognizable thanks to Capcom. The Story is, unfortunately, a bit thin and doesn't really record driving. However, the Aliens are beautifully designed and the AI is made well usable. Aliens and "beset" people rarely attack each other, though they would have to be Enemies. The Weapon selection and the Mech Suits are also a nice Idea, but it was clear to me when Playing that this is a Console Shoter. All in all, you realize that it's a nice Game and the Focus is clearly on the "due one." A nice Game for a long Friday evening or a pleasant Weekend. That you can give yourself a time.

What memories with this game, I returned it in every way on Xbox 360 at the time, in 2007, yeah it does not get big world there ^^ in this game, the solo is clearly not the most positive point, it's just a mouth to get hand with the co mmandes, nothing more... So, the big positive point of this game, it is clearly the multiplayer, it is nervous, fast, the gunfights are epic as possible, in short never bored online... But here, in 2017, no one plays online at this game, the servers are demunately empty, and it's really a pity, what would I like to be able to spend time against other players:-/ So, do I recommend this game? For solo: clearly no, it's boat, it's very repetitive, it's just there to teach you the commands and different tactics facing some types of VS or defense armament, nothing more, you'll be bored very quickly. For the multi: clearly yes, it's so epic and enjoyable ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ and ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ and the maps are many:-) For the graphics: honest Syons, it's clearly far from ugly, and for a game that dates from 2007, the use of DirectX 10 (the console version is in DX9) is a plus not negligible, it has aged well, and it still flatten very well the retina;-) Here, if you still want to take the game, think twice, the solo is ultra repetitive, and the multi is dead... If there are motivated to give back a second youth to this game that is just huge online, drop you ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I will join you illico Presto:-p
