About

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is an action game with platforming and puzzle solving elements. You take on the role of the Prince who gets two powerful artifacts: the Dagger of Time and the Sands of Time. Tricked by the Vizier, he releases the Sands that turn citizens into monsters. Now Prince needs to fix his mistake.

The key feature of the game is Prince’s ability to rewind time using the Dagger. It’s combined with platforming as you explore the city climbing walls and jumping over obstacles, and fights with enemies. If you make a mistake during these activities, you can go back to ten seconds and change your actions. The Dagger also allows to slow time and freeze enemies. You can’t customize the protagonist, however, you can upgrade his health and power at special points within levels.
The game consists of several levels full of multiple traps and environmental puzzles. Some levels are cooperative and you complete them together with your AI companion, Farah. While Prince uses melee combat and different tricks, she fires a bow at enemies. You need to protect Farah because the game ends if she dies..

Original wasn't perfect, but they did an amazing job with those animations in 2003... I just hope they reworked these animations in the Remake.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time reviews and comments

Good story, great combat, fun platforming
«Blew my mind»
Beautiful, cool story, cool time mechanique. Not great climbing mechanics, but not infuritating (usually) either.  Almost everything about this game is excecuted succesfully.
A reboot of a classic game ... that eventually became a modern classic itself!....

very good for its time
Maybe this is my most played story oriented game in my gaming life. This game for me is just a perfect entire creation, mostly because of the simple, but solid fighting system and the creative platform parts in the game. Ohh, and the design just pure gold, with the graphics and audio, include the voice acting (Yuri Lowenthal) and the soundtrack (Stuart Chatwood) and also Patrice Désilets for the game directing.

It is old, this should be said at this Point, not only in appearance, but also from the Fighting and the Camera! It seems to have been developed for the PS2 or something like that and you can see THAT from this Game DEUTLICHST! Abnormal Camera Angles that can only be easily concealed with the Keyboard at the most impossible angles. A Combat System that imposes an incredible amount of Enemies on you so that it has become my HASS Element in this Game and, of course, the outdated Graphics, which can be blurred. The Climbing Passages are quite fun, but that's what they were. Buy the Forgotten Sands If you want to have a Prince of Persia part. Extremely comparable to this Game, only that you can play it much better! Don't!

A Story that doesn't get in The Way of Gameplay. A simple Combat System that is complex enough, however, that it is not enough to hammer a Button stubbornly. Even if the Fights are sometimes somewhat unfair (but never unmanable) and often dragged out. Most of The Time also a good Balance between Fight Time and Parking Time. So You never fight too often, but the Park Ourparts don't take on 80% of the Game either. And if you don't like (why) the Game Feature, it's almost never Mandatory and it's up to you whether you want to use it or not. Unfortunately, the Port is quite ... Meh. There is no complete Controller support, Fog is bugated and moving stones and Mirrors is somehow possible and sometimes not (moving in one Direction suddenly and without Reason is no longer possible and then again). Alas and the Camera is often the Game's biggest Opponent.

After the actually good Reviews and also good Test Results in relevant Magazines, I struck and wanted to get a Picture for myself. I was hoping for a Kind of Tomb Raider with more Combat Elements, but I felt the Result very disappointing. The fact that the Graphics are no longer up-to-date did not bother me at all. But I found the Controls extremely hasty and sometimes very confusing ... Taking The Camera to a half-usable Angle is often impossible. And a good Angle is simply essential if a really straight jump or exact Movement is needed. So the Climbing Sections kept very much in Bounds and repeated themselves too often. The Combat Elements are very predominantly, but even after a very short Time already boring to frustrating, because very often you can only guess where you are going. The Story is nice-not lush or the Bang, but appropriate to the Genre, I would say. All in all, the Game fatigued me a lot after a good 6 Hours and the Motivation to Continue playing has diminished so much that I just left it ... Therefore, no Purchase recommendation from me. Not in the Sale, either. Sorry...
