"Like DOOM, Rise of the Triad is a high quality, fast scrolling first-person perspective 3D action game. Graphics are on par with DOOM. It has destructive enemies and lots of them, an arsenal of weapons from simple pistols to missile launchers, life-preserving armor, traps and ambushes galore, and the ability to play by modem or network. In all, there's a great degree of similarity between the two games. In addition, Rise of the Triad puts most of the other DOOM wannabes to shame - it's that good!" - Chuck Miller, Editor of interactive EntertainmentFeatures
Rise of the Real Estate: Super huge levels - up to one million sq. feet, and up to 16 stories high!
Digital Diversity: Ten unique, digitized enemies in the game, plus four multi-stage bosses!

Collateral Damage: Nearly every object can be destroyed - even mark walls with bullet holes!

Rise of the Triad: Dark War reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from Spain
Rise or the Triad game designed by the Apogee group in the middle of the time of the 90 in concrete in 1994. I would like to appreciate the retro but this game included today is a marvel at the human eye. It Is difficult to opt for a retro shooter, but if I had to choose I would stay with Doom without a doubt. I Did Not expect to come a compilation with more three games, I was pleasantly surprised. I Was looking at my abandonware games of this style and go that I found a CD-ROM that provided the magazine time of the 90, where appeared the title of Terminal Velocity. Velocity Terminal was a game developed by the same company that I think Rise of Triad, is nothing more than a first person simulator of space battles. Nothing of the other world apparently with the gem that hid inside if I refer to the first game of the Triad. It's called hunting starts... It Offers a very complete content in my opinion, but of course this is not buyable to the second and last delivery of ROOT. Well it offers a set of 10 different design levels, with the aim of getting one or more keys to unlock special doors and thus go through the door of the end of level. Up to that point it seems very simple until we realize when completing a screen that there are a series objectives. First of all the score with which we finish the level, is based on the ANHK coins that we collect with the option to earn extra lives for our game. As in the software ID games each level will be repelled from secrets to find... This is a replayable element for the title because in our first games we can not find them all unless we look guide... Another element in common are the powerup's that we will give in some levels, a few hidden other not so much as for example:-god mode o Dios mode (the hand of God as I like to call) Is an item that will make us immune for an average period of time and we can destroy all Nu I pass through the fury of God. This is an example but there are many more. The base of the game is based on who has the greatest with this I mean that in our step we will be giving with all kinds of heavy weapons such as:-The heat finder "heat seeker" launches a half-guided missile that impacts the target that disintegrates by COM Pleto. -Bazooka, unlike the Heat finder is a projectile that comes forward creating the same effect as heat seeker...-The drunken missile or drunken missile, is a chain of two guided missiles.. Brutal effect. -Flamebomb. 3D Realms is the company responsible for the game as well as Apogee. I Do Not want to extend more than I am entering sleep... Needless to say I recommend xD
