About

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is a singleplayer FPS developed by MachineGames. It is the third installment in the rebooted series.

Set in the alternate 1961 where Nazi Germany won World War II, the game picks up right at the end of Wolfenstein: The New Order. After sustaining heavy injuries in the battle with Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse, BJ Blaskowicz orders a nuclear strike on Deathshead's compound in order to cripple the Nazi war machine, but he is evacuated by his comrades before the rocket launch. Blaskowicz falls unconscious for 5 months and is woken up by a Nazi attack. The player has to repel the attack and end the Nazi reign over America once and for all.

The New Colossus features several stealth-action elements, just like the previous title in the series. There are some major differences in the mechanics: now BJ can modify his weaponry on-the-go, dual wield two different weapons at the same time. The cover system makes a comeback. The Protagonist doesn't stick to cover, leaning out of it instead.

The game offers a linear storyline, but the player is free to complete side-missions in any order they like. Completing these missions is rewarded with new weapon upgrades.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus reviews and comments

Holy shit. What to even say about this game. I think one of the best ways to explain this game is by saying it falls into that beautiful category of amazing sequels. It's like T2. Bigger, better, more explosions. I'm not going to spoil anything in this game because it needs to be experienced but this game goes to some fucking places. It has so many twists and what the fuck moments and one scene near the end that I was literally slack jawed saying 'what the fuck am I seeing?'  It improves on the first game in terms of gameplay while adding some new things. It ramps up the story and the stakes right in the beginning of the game making you invested more than ever. Oh and you start out rolling around in a wheelchair killing nazis. The game is fucking incredible and everyone should experience it for themselves. I can only hope that the Quake reboot is half as good as this game was.

a competent shooter that run very well but seem to have forget what s make it speial. The gameplay meh. life was pretty useful at high dificulty maybe too but 50then pgradable too little to soon to me. The power suit seem fun but eh kinda useless. The last iteration was you are as powerfull as the weapon u hold nad it was more satisfying. The mix all over the place as the hud and some content. The story telling went from not all over the place to doesnt known what to do. The pacing meh it s bad. This is a case of think of a good game think how easy it can be bad and u have it
I think these new wolfensteins are little overhyped.  This game is some god nazi killing action that evokes older entries in the series and a by-gone era of fps games.
6/10 - space nazis go boom
This is probably the only FPS campaign game where I enjoyed the story and cutscenes significantly more than the gameplay. I played the previous two Wolfenstein games as well and I just don’t think the gameplay is anything special. The stealth bits can be fun and you get some good action shootouts but there is something to the feel of the guns and movement that I just don’t really like. That being said , I still really enjoyed this game, and it’s because the story is fucking wild in all the right ways. It doesn’t hold anything back and it’s so good. The cutscenes look sweet and I honestly preferred just watching the cutscenes to playing the game. The story took many turns I didn’t see coming. I loved the ending. A great game to play high.

Final Score: A-
A mixed bag, but when it's good, it's highly entertaining. Killing Nazis doesn't get old. There is some real creativity in the story that is immensely entertaining B-grade stuff. The game begins jarringly, with a sadistic set of choices you are forced to make. Thankfully, this stops relatively early on in the game, and the game finds its stride as the Nazi-killing romp begins.
Machine Games did it again and continues to prove why I favor their shooters over the likes of Activision, Treyarch, Infinity Ward and so many others. The New Colossus takes a further step into this nightmarish world in which the Nazis won WWII. If the first game was unsettling, this game doubles down on the unsettling nature. The New Colossus picks up after the events of The New Order. This time BJ and his resistance set their sights on liberating the United States of America from Nazi control. The story still indulges in the usual absurdities and over the top action, violence and mayhem that Machine Games has now settled in to. But at the same time underneath all of those things are actual characters, and a truly appealing story. The gameplay is better than The New Order, more weapons are added and the dual wield option has been updated and improved to add some variety to the usual Nazi killing antics and improve the bloody, brutal rampage that BJ continues on. Even more variety is added to the gameplay with special perks and equipment that you obtain almost mid game (which is a complaint). Sometimes there is a repetitive nature to some of the missions and level layouts, but it does not impeded on the enjoyment. The Normal difficulty proved to be enjoyable. It wasn't too easy and provided a nice balanced game. The higher difficulties on the other hand are pretty stressful. And "Mein Leben"......well I don't want to talk about that. Overall, this is a fantastic game. The graphics are improved, the concepts, the overall artwork and quality of the game, all of those things cement this game as one of the best games to come out in 2017…now that I mention it, 2017 was such an all around good year for video games and movies.

Rating: 5/5

Actually, the Game would be a clear Buy recommendation ... Unfortunately not in the German Version or in the current State. I would have no Problem removing the Symbols, but unfortunately complete Passages of text were changed and thus the Joke was destroyed. A Soldier who Gives Ku Klux Klan Members a Lesson in German (a la Monty Phyton "Romans goes home"), no, that is changed to a Quiz round where Just Annual numbers are Queried ... Really? A Scot who has an ingenious Accent in the Original and in the German Version, of course, all High German speak Without any Accent ... So much Atmosphere is lost there. Unfortunately, there is also no Way to switch to the English Language. Therefore, I will never buy a German Version of the wrong game again, thank you for this Lesson. Actually, I would like to give the Game a neutral Rating now (which unfortunately does not exist in Steam), as this is and remains a Review For the "German Edition" and for me the Problems with Localization described above still persist. Technically, Wolfenstein 2 (meanwhile) is a solid Shooter if you can look past the localization story. Persally, however, I would prefer the English Version to 100%.
