About

Wolfenstein: The New Blood is an FPS game which serves as a prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order developed by MachineGames. The game is set in the alternate 1946, where Nazi Germany is close to winning World War II. You play as B.J Blaskowicz set out on a secret mission to turn the tides in favor of the Allies. The game is divided into two chapters: Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves and The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs. In the first chapter, you have to escape the prison Blaskowicz was put into after his cover was blown. The second chapter has Blaskowicz infiltrate the fictional city of Wolfburg, where Helga Von Schabbs, a high-ranked Nazi archaeologist found several dark magic artifacts. Each level in the game is a semi-open sandbox which the player can navigate and explore freely. Experience intense and fast combat with the ability of dual-wielding any weapon you find. The game features an uncommon cover system, where the character leans out of the cover. The perk system is also present. In order to unlock a perk, the player has to complete a specific task. Perks can grant a bonus to health, armor or an ability to perform a silent takedown.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is chronologically the first game in the rebooted Wolfenstein series from Machine Games. Machine Games cobbled together elements from previous entries but overall the story is unique and original to this new series. The year is 1946, in a final attempt to bring down the Nazi war machine, William “B.J.” Blazkowicz and Agent One are tasked with retrieving documents that give the weak and desperate Allied Forces a chance to end the Nazi war efforts by destroying a secret Nazi weapons compound and killing a leading Nazi figure (General Wilhelm “Deathshead” Strasse). To find these documents, BJ has to acquire them from Nazi commander and archaeologist Helga Von Schabbs. To do this BJ must infiltrate Von Schabbs’s ancestral home (Castle Wolfenstein) and put an end to her own devious plans. The game combines elements of Wolfenstein 3D and Return to Castle Wolfenstein into one game. So the events in those games are largely considered to be non canon now. The rebooted Wolfenstein series from Machine Games has quickly become one of my favorite shooters. In fact, I have neglected most of the usual annual first person shooters (Call of Duty) because this series is infinitely better in my opinion. The game is an alternate history series (which I am also a big fan of) and combines a lot of elements from previous entries in the series ( a cable car set piece) and even pulls inspiration and themes and tone from Inglourious Basterds and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Machine Games seems to focus more on the science fiction elements and not embrace the more occultic elements that have been a part of the franchise. This game, however, toys around with more of the possibly occultic elements of the series, but kind of like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, magic is just a form of science that we don’t understand. The gameplay is similar to The New Order, but some of the technology is lacking and is consistent with the advanced 1946 setting and not the 1960 setting of The New Order. The guns and gunplay is fantastic. The setting and set pieces are fun and the game encourages diversity in how the player goes about the areas. The story is a little bare bones and I would prefer that the story would have been more prominent, but this game is still so much fun.

Again very good Game from the Wolfenstein series. Old Blood is the Prequel to The New Order, offering a solid, spoiler-free and, above all, seamlessly intertwined Explanation of what Happened before the final Battle for Europe. The Graphics remain at the usual high Level, the Gameplay has been slightly changed (the Focus is more on Sneaking than in the Main Game and the Laser Cutter has been replaced by two Pipes with which to beat and climb). The Story is once again fantastically told and is accompanied by coherent inner Dialogues by the Protagonist; However, Unlike the Main Game, Old Blood treats a morbid, more supernatural Version of the War (as Opposed to the very futuristic and technically-oriented New Order). The Replay value of Old Blood is still very high, although the Variety of collectable Objects is much lower than in the Original Game. In Addition, Old Blood has only 8 Chapters compared to the 16 from the Main Game, but the Developers solve this very well through their extremely fair Pricing Policy. In fact, you're done in about 6-7 Hours with the Campaign, after which you either collect the Collectibles or play the new Challenges. Overall, The Old Blood is well worth it for its Price.

ALAAAAARM!!! ALAAAAARM! WERFE GRANATE! ALAAAAAARM!!! Grenade! Old. Blood is by Far the worst ego shooter I've played in over 20 Years. What wil the Dirt Actually be? An FPS or a Sneak Game? Does it actually matter because both don't work. As soon as one is discovered sneaking, the alarm goes off and there are 100 Soldiers, Super Soldiers, Ubernazispecial ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Whether behind you is a Dead End or a Wall, the Types spawn in every impossible Place in mass and henceforth you are shouted at continuously in a disabled, proletennazi-German. The Words: Attention Grenade!!! And the unfathomably annoying Alarm will accompany the Player without any incurring. The worst thing, however, is clearly the disastrous Weapon Change Menu. In all my Gamer Cateriers, I've never experienced Such Cramp. With the Controller, it is an absolute Construction can select the Weapons. You're constantly catching the Wrong thing. Why the Hell Are there Duall Schaldiffled Pistols or Snipers? That makes no Sense at all and spreads the Change Menu. If you only tap the Menu, instead of holding on, you throw a Grenade. Who comes up with such a Shit? If you have climbed a Wall, the Pipe is equipped again and you can again fumble together in the Menu with a tedious favourite. Unfathomably annoying. Another Point: The Checkpoints. Catastrophic and partly unfairly distributed. While there are far too much healing and Armour items everywhere that no Man needs or can take with you, it always comes before the Very moment when you have poor Health a ♥ ♥ ♥ ing Chekpoint is set in the middle Of a crass Firefight. For me, however, the absolute Gamebreaker was suddenly disappearing as the Heil/tank items in the Area. Nice autosave Error. Before the Boss fight (?), Muni and Healing are ready, When I died and the Chekpoint was loaded, the Stuff disappeared with each time. After the third Death, I stood there and everything was gone. Continue playing virtually impossible. Is there something positive? Gametechnically as I said no. Everything is just extremely bad. DOOM shows how to implement a good Control and Gunplay that is also Fun. The Old Blood is inedible here. However, you have to let the Game that it has a very good Graphics and a Atmosphere. Except for the eternal rumbling of the Nazis. For a Game, though, that's not enough. Verdict: Finger Way from this Dirt! Luckily, I only spent £66. £6 too much ...
