About

Despite its name, Star Wars Battlefront II is the seventh game in the Battlefront series of action games. It is a direct sequel to the 2015 Star Wars Battlefront that became the series's reboot.

Story mode

The game is set in the Star Wars universe during and after the fall of the Galactic Empire. Its story mode fills the gap between the original trilogy and Episode VII: The Force Awakens. In the story campaign mode, the player controls the Imperial Inferno Squad led by the game's main protagonist, Iden Versio (who is voiced by Janina Gavankar). She and her special forces group participate in a variety of missions spanning almost 30 years. On certain levels, the player will also control other characters, including rebels.

Arcade mode

Besides the story mode, there's the Arcade mode that offers the players to take on the role of any Star Wars character from the said period, such as Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke, Rey, Kylo Ren, among others. The player can choose the battle to participate in, the side to fight for, and the character, or even to customize the mission.

Multiplayer

The Arcade mode offers a local cooperative multiplayer. Besides that, there are nine online multiplayer modes that include traditional types like team deathmatch and capture the flag. Some of this modes, like Galactic Assault, support up to 40 players at once and allow the players to participate in a large-scale battle between the rebels and the Empire.

STAR WARS Battlefront II reviews and comments

      8/10
P2W, The campaign sucked. Star wars is dead.
      «Disappointment of the year»
Not the best online shooter, but still very fun and has great sound effects.
The graphics and sound are exceptional. Location, weapon, troops all look really good and if u r a super fan u have some really awesome skin. After the game, well it s sad. U still have fonctionnalité needed like personal server or create a game. U still haven't a server browser. After the game well there is not any actual balancing. U still have best power by opening lootbox, and u will still killed by lvl+500 cause they have all the loot even if they are terrible player. For 5€ it s a good price don't buy it higher

      «Can’t stop playing»
i start playing the game thinking it was awful cause of the reviews, but bro... as a star wars fan i can say, this game is great, the maps are exactly like the movies! great game overhaul
      «Underrated»
I was so excited for this game. I loved the first one and this one sounded like it was going to be an improvement in every way. I’m not even going to mention the pay to win problems about this game at launch. It was a problem but it wasn’t the only problem. Visually this game somehow seemed to look worse than the first. I don’t know why. My main problem though was the gunplay. I don’t know what they did differently but this one felt different and worse. Also the system of spawning with heroes, vehicles or special characters was totally broken. This is a rare game where I still dominated but it still wasn’t that fun. There were moments and it wasn’t all bad, but how can I go 40-10 consistently and not be having a blast. Kills weren’t satisfying and I don’t know why. Also the campaign sucked and space battles were nowhere near as fun as I remember in the original battlefront.

      Final Score: B+
I’m not a fan of shooter and I don’t play online game much but I love this game. As for me, one of the best space battle game in years. I play 8v8 strike and enjoy even the land battles. The single campaign could be better and longer but still is quite good. We all here hate EA, I understand that but let’s admit that after all Battlefront II is a great Star Wars game, one of the best titles of the franchise.
Unfortunately, this game has much more problems than I’d expected. It looks and sounds amazing, some maps and heroes are totally awesome but here the problems begin. The game has a lot of content that is completely unnecessary like some weapons and abilities that you don’t use because they are helpless. Some maps are horrible, when I see them I just want to exit the game. No voice chat for some reason, no browsing for certain maps, empty lobbies and endless grind. Grind for everything, even completely useless items. And, as the icing on the cake, the game lags. A lot.
a tough game to review coz i really like the actual gameplay but the progression is terrible. even after the most recent changes you have to play for four hours just to open one crate that contains mostly useless shit. there’s already a special place for ea in hell for turning the game into endless grinding. and i don’t actually mind dem micro payments if they are fair but their system makes it really hard to enjoy the actual playing. i would say that it takes over 500 hours of playtime to unlock everything in the game without paying money based on my current playing experience and that is just plain ridiculous. i was also frustrated that ea used those sneaky tactics to hide grinding in review copies, so the players got not what they expected.
on the positive side the visuals and sounds are absolutely spectacular and the gameplay has improved a lot since 2015. but that’s just it, coz microtransactions ruin the game.
