About

Sudden Strike 4 sends you off on three extensive campaigns set amongst the battlefields of World War II.

Commanding the Allied, German or Soviet troops, you will lead over 100 different units into battle; like the German bomber Heinkel He111, the Russian T-34 tank, the British Hawker Typhoon fighter plane and the notorious German Panzerkampfwagen VI "Tiger".

In a first for the Sudden Strike series, you can now choose from one of nine individual commanders, such as George Patton or Bernard Montgomery, who will each allow for different approaches to combat and boast unique abilities.

Prove your strategic expertise in over 20 demanding singleplayer scenarios, the challenge-focused skirmish mode and the ultra-competitive multiplayer mode via Internet.

Exploit the weak spots of tanks, set up an ambush, occupy buildings with infantry, outmaneuver the enemy with clever positioning or unleash devastating air strikes – how you approach each mission is up to you!

Modding support with Steam Workshop integration.

Sudden Strike 4 reviews and comments

Sudden Strike 4, in my Opinion, didn't deserve the Title "Sudden Strike." There is simply a lack of complexity and this Feeling of commanding a proper "Force." It feels like you're constantly just playing through the Game with a Pawn. If you know the older Parts of Sudden Strike 4, it was a real Game of chess. At Sudden Strike 1-2 you had a whole Battalion and AT SS4 you have the feeling to play with a Platoon all the time. It feels like a No-brainer or a throttled game for the Playstation platform. With Sudden Strike 4 you lose 20 Units and you can almost give up. Just way too few Units in the Field. Damn again! I wish the Developers would hear once because the Game REALLY has POTENTIAL. You can really make it a hammer Game and the Steam Community would LOVE it! BUT no no no. The PS4 Platform is simply too elementary. The Multiplayer is also far too monotonous. One pushes his Troops from The Cross around the Map around the MAP to clap against the OPPONENT Frontal. There are no Fronts, only a "Front." There is very little Scope to play a defensive Game or to build an offensive, or hardly tactical, possibilities, for Example, fortifications. It just feels too Arcadian and that's exactly what Sudden Strike 1-2 never was! My God! WHY WHY Calypso. I know it's not easy to develop a Game and do everyone justice. But these are fundamental Points that depend on the Success of this. And the MULTIPLAYER IS THE GREAT WITZ! Why not just copy and paste SS2???? Why?

At Sudden Strike 4 you can once again be annoyed to have heard on the Game press. No Idea what the Lord of the Gamestar tested. But not the same Version as the one you can buy in Retail. The Game is either still Alpha or Scrap. After 3 Missions of the Germans, one hardly Wants to continue playing and resents 22 euros spent. -The AI is stupid as Bread, where that would be where an Insult to Bread. Were there not even any Videos of alleged Adaptive AI or any such a School Slide? Sorry, but there is nothing of that. All totally predictable both with Enemies and in your own Units. Own Units ball unabashedly 10 Meters further against a Mountain, Infantrie has probably heard the Word cover only in Connection with Horse Breeders. The Way Finding the individual Units is a single Cheekiness and the script AI is laughable. On Counter-attack of the French In the third Wehrmacht mission you could also set up your 88S and then go to The toilet for the 8 Rounds of attacks until it is over ...-The Missions and Maps are super small and predictable. If you only know where any Scripts react, you could reload at any time and chase the AI into Ambushes. It doesn't have much to do with "Game." Great that with three Stars you can then unlock a Degree Of difficulty without Laden/Speichers, but until then you already know the Missions;)-The Graphics are at most "Mäh," but with times that has nothing to Do with it. The UI is also mäh and the 2 Minute Long bonus Videos after Completing a Mission are arguably a bad Joke rather than a Bonus. -The whole Single player seems to be a bad Joke, of Immersion no Feeling when you next play Barbarossa after a Mission on a Wine Card in Belgium. Too bad for the Money and much more a pity for the Credibility of a GameStar. If I had bought it directly via Steam, it would have at least receded in the 2 Hour Window ...
