App Store is an application store, a part of the iTunes Store that provides apps for Apple devices: iPhones, iPads, iPods Touch and Mac computers. It was launched by Apple in 2008. The store features over 2 million apps and has over 500 million active users. Games are one of the segments of all AppStore content: it also includes musical, graphical, social and other applications, articles and interviews. There are free-to-play and buy-to-play games on AppStore. They are split into different compilations depending on the monetization model they use, genres, and personal recommendations. Many of the games on AppStore are mobile versions of PC and console titles. Some games use AR-technology. To download or purchase games on AppStore, players use their Apple ID - the authentication system that provides access to all Apple services.
