About

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is an action adventure game developed by Crystal Dynamics. The title serves as a spin-off to Tomb Raider series and is not connected to the series storyline whatsoever.

Two thousand years ago there was a battle between the Guardian of Light and the Keeper of Darkness. The Keeper won using the Mirror of Smoke with which he summoned a horde of horrible monsters, but the Guardian survived the encounter and imprisoned the Keeper in his own mirror. Fast-forward to the present day. Lara Croft finds the legendary mirror, but she does not know what evil it contains.

The game puts a strong emphasis on cooperative play, yet it is possible to complete the game alone. While the previous installments in the series featured an action third-person camera, Guardian of Light is using a fixed isometric camera. The players can choose to play either as the Guardian himself or as Lara Croft with each character having their own abilities.

Puzzles differ when played alone or in co-op mode. This was done in order to make the players rely less on AI.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light reviews and comments

there are other games that do this better.  and Tomb Raider does not this better.
Worth it for the local co-op alone, especially the requirement to interact with the partner to pass challenges.

Nice visuals and sound effects.
Balanced and gradually increasing game difficulty, aside from one single huge spike in a particular frustrating part near the end that takes some fighting against the wonky rope physics.

A bit too short tho.

Great Game! Make a Lot Of Fun in the Coop! Had little Expectation of the Game and ended up having as much Fun as it hasn't had in a long time. The Game offers many meaningful Coop elements where you have to solve small Puzzles and act as a Team. Of Course, you can also smoke your Fellow Player:D

Game crashes during Charging. I can still read the Epilepsy Warning, then I see the Desktop again. Hasn't happened to Me yet at Steam and is also unexcusable. There's a longer community thread to do that, which explains that with a recent Win10 update. The Game is not worth the Workaround. Update/Updating is the Publisher's Job.

Is too hard for me. In a Walk-through video, a Door simply opened, with no Input from the Player. With me, that door remained locked. Shortly thereafter, where many Bullets are to be arranged in a Ring, two Giant Monsters attack me, which are somehow immune to all my Weapons. In the Walk-through video, the Monsters don't appear at this Point! Don't know what I'm doing wrong or if there are different Versions. If, despite the Attitude "easy" the Game is not feasible, I cannot make a Recommendation. And I save Money for DLCs as well.

A good Game. For my Taste the Atmosphere is a bit too gloomy but otherwise it is really well done. The Game principle is a Mixture of Monsters, dodging Traps and solving small Previously simple Puzzles. All of this from a Bird's Eye View, which has become really good. (Status: I'm just right at the Beginning of the Game.) .... I got it pretty cheap and for the Price it was definitely worth it. For two, I haven't played it yet, but that's certainly even better. However, the Single Player mode is also playable. Only the Atmosphere doesn't give me a good Mood but many other Games are rather gloomy. So it's down to the Player's taste. But otherwise well-done Play.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. The slightly different Tomb Raider. Here Crystal Dynamics has tried something different and with great Success! This Game is largely based on Puzzles, Challenges and Teamwork. Because during the full Story, Lara is joined by Totec to stop the evil Xolotl. You should definitely enjoy this Game in the Co-op. Here, the Game shows its true strong. For two, it's at least twice as much Fun! Dennis and I enjoyed the Levels so much That we pulled through every single One with the (free) Kane & Lynch Character pack again to reach 100%. For about 18 Hours of Play at a Price of 2.49 Euros (in the Sale), this Game is really worth it! Part 1: https://youtu.be/D2R2dmo01g4
