Myst can be played wonderfully on the iPod Touch. The Atmosphere, the beautiful Music, everything was As I remembered it from the "old" Myst.
A great Game with well thought-out logical Puzzles that have just the right Level of difficulty, they are neither too easy nor too difficult. The Graphics, as usual by Myst, are also excellent, but I would have liked to have zoomed a little into the Details at times. I've played on the Mac Myst, RealMyst, Exile and all the other Parts and I have to say this app version is in no way inferior to the others. That it is not the-newer-RealMyst is known before the Purchase and therefore does not make the Game a little less good. I can only recommend it to anyone who likes such Kind of Games!
Now it's time to wait and hope for the next pieces of myth: Riven, Exile, Revelation ...

I remember playing this game back in the '90 on my PC and it was great. This iPhone version is the exact same game as far as I can see and unfortunately the years has not fared too well with Myst. What was revolutionary ten years ago is clunky today. Myst was unique because of its novel combination of beautiful graphics and audio which created a moody game playing experience. Neither the graphics nor the audio looks as good today as I remember. The actual game play was never that great from the beginning either, for instance there is no smooth transition from scene to scene, instead you have to click to get the next screen. At the time it was acceptable but today it feels like clicking through a boring slideshow. Its understandable that game producers want to resurrect old games - the PC 10 years ago is basically your iPhone today, but some things are best left to memory and to history and this game is definitely in that category.

Because for me this is about it. I still remember when I saw him the first time: the atmospheres that had created, so surreal, but at the same time so true and plausible that you immerse yourself completely in the curious discovery of unknown worlds. The history, the books, the continuous search for a solution. It was the first game that made me forget the time... Then came Riven and all the various sequels to The End Of Ages when, at a distance of over 10 years this kind of games was now in crisis. Cyan goes the merit of having given birth to a masterpiece saga, started with this game: Myst. Many who were not even born in 1993 will laugh in front of the graphics and gameplay so little evolved... Many have also laughed about the porting of must have like Golden Axe or Dragon's Lair... I do not blame you because time has accustomed you to anything else. But These are games that the history of videogames have really made... And if it's funny, well... You always have the option to spend your euros elsewhere!
