The game gives you opportunities to decide what you want to do and what you don't want to do, and then says "Wow, how could you do that? You are a horrible person. No morale here, you're just horrible. Now all your characters will be depressed, and at the end we'll tell you that you did everything wrong once again."

It was good at first, but it got boring really fast. Repetitive boss fights and puzzles that feel out of place in a home make the game feel less like horror and more like they were trying to hard to reach multiple audiences. It was a step in the right direction for the series, but they need to take another step before they reach it's best.

A lot of variety in ways to play. You can go full human, full alien, or a good mix of both. A unique story with a strong start, a middle that kept me going, and an ending that could have been better but didn't ruin the experience.

A great start to storytelling in virtual reality.
Cancerous community. Not very accessible to people new to MOBA's, low skill cap.
People give it a lot of crap, but I enjoyed the concept and the story took me for a ride that wasn't really present at a time where COD was just starting to repeat itself. However: DO NOT PLAY IT'S SEQUEL.

Would you kindly just play this game and take the general public's word about how great this game/series is?

I was NOT expecting what I got. I had never played the first Darkness game and I got this in a Humble Bundle ages ago so I went in blind. What I ended up getting was a supernatural mafia shooter game with snakes and british farting demons. This game has major charm. The shooting is extremely smooth and with the Darkness snakes alongside you, you're able to get creative with how you kill. You can pick up a pool stick and impale the enemy against the wall or lift them up and throw them into their friend, knocking them down and getting and easy double kill. You can also simply rip them in half then tear their heart out for combat upgrades. I could go on and on about how you can kill them, but that would take ages. The combat isn't the only great thing about this game. The story places Jackie Estacado, the leader of a mafia of sorts in a war with a supernatural cult who wants to steal the Darkness from him and use it for their own goals. The Darkness is an ancient entity of great power that doesn't always have the same goals as Jackie and so it serves as both a protagonist and an antagonist. Jackie's girlfriend since childhood Jenny was murdered by his uncle in the previous game and so in The Darkness 2 he experiences the mental aspects of losing the only person he's close to and questioning if he's going insane as he one day wakes up in a mental asylum with Jenny herself as his nurse. He fights to figure out what is real and what isn't in this action packed psychological horror shooter. I've played it more than 3 times through.

Great game, but not without bugs.

The story is pretty good and there's so much variety in what you can do.
The character customization has been improved on since DOS1 including the ability to customize your companions (Lohse, Ifan, Sebille, etc.)
Can be difficult or can be easy depending on which difficulty you play.
4 person multiplayer without having to go change some numbers in the game's files with a confusing program.

Your companions sometimes have a hard time following you. They'll just stop for a good minute then all of a sudden sprint across a mile in a second to catch up to you.
Combat will sometimes have long pauses as the system tries to figure out what your opponents should do.

All in all it's a good game and it was worth my 40 bucks so far so it gets my recommendation.

This game will set your ass on fire but you will continue to play it because of magnificent picture and soundtrack. This style reminds of Disney's «Dumbo» and «Pinokio» so bad. And it cannot be unenjoyable.

Incredibly fun and beautiful game. However, upon completion of a few characters, maybe some sets are done, you've become as OP as possible, and you are as high as you can go in the grifts, the game seems pointless to continue playing. Lots of fun for months, but after that, it just doesn't seem like something I will revisit often.
MI kind of love button mashing action games and it looked pretty much like it. It was actually what I expected, but the thing is that it's buggy, doesn't have keyboard settings (and default gamepad laout is kinda weird too). Story is boring: generic fantasy world, generic fantasy forest, generic OP girl. Story doesn't even mean much here: it looks more like excuse to drop slimes on your head to beat them from day to day. Gameplay is pretty much button mashing to kill stuff. Yes, it gets harder and harder, there's RPG elements and so on, but the problem is that you don't really need to think or adapt somehow. In the end of the day the best strategy is to just try again and get experience to get more powerful so you will get through. And the problem with that -- it's just more efficient strategy than trying to adapt and think. I've got to day 37 and it pretty much the same shit over and over again. Even bosses are more like regular enemies that you will meet, just bigger. I've tried to beat the game, but it gets just too boring to me.

Old good Tekken.

The story is weak and and mostly stupid. But we like fighting games not for their stories, but for cool characters with great combos and diverse fighting styles.

I suppose, the only disturbing thing for newbies and MK/SF fans is the absence of block button))

If you like «Bring me some apples»-quests for 50+ level hero — you definitely should try Fallout 4.

Forget about speech-focused characters, in dialogues you could perform not better than a sinth. The difference is only in a voice.

Minecraft mechanics is really boring because of the lack of objects.

Brilliant-narrated story immersing you in an apocalyptic setting. It looks so closer to real life, when monsters around you are not cool and brutal super-mutants, but people. Some of them —
— just what remains of a man, creatures with minds deconstructed to primal instincts by virus, some of them — people with deconstructed values.

It's about character, who is not predesigned hero, which is only purpose to cleanse «maps» in the name of «save the mankind»-mission, but a cynic man becoming a hero in circumstances, only because he could find something important in his life.

Sometimes «The Last Of Us» manipulating you, mostly with «U should cry now»-scenes, but performing it great. And actually, I love it.
It's good game but you should wait years while Ubisoft fix it.
