I'm generally not big on beat em ups but this one is just really fun for no good reason.

Hey this game is sick if only my friends would get off their asses and come into Iceborne with me.

Honestly I couldn't tell you a single thing about the Campaign but the multiplayer is great. Gears had long since earned its spot in the discussion for premier competitive shooters.

It's more borderlands.

Gamepass.

No idea what the hype was for but maybe this just isn't for me.
The Surge 2 takes some good ideas from the first game and really polished them up. My take is that The Surge trades an interesting world and level design for a more involved combat system, and depending on your priorities you may enjoy that.
As a huge souls formula fan, I enjoyed my runs. If you're coming from outside of the genre, there are much better games to explore.

Also titty physics are whatever but them boys be blowin in the WIND.
It wasn't the perfect game we all wanted but everything we loved is still here and looks better than ever. The combat system was mega neutered from 2 but everything else is on steroids.

Exceptional
Played both but assume this is for the HD version.

The platforming segments in this game haven't aged all to well, but otherwise this was the beginning of something great and it's still a blast to go through. Great music, combat, and an artstyle that's fairly timeless.

This is the definition of "does nothing overly well, but nothing poorly either."

I may go back to this, but it'll take a serious lack of anything else to play.
Bought on ps4 and then it hit gamepass soon after, rip.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the time I had with this game. Not quite as long or as deep as I would've liked, but what's here is very good. Worth noting that on base ps4 there were notable performance issues, though.

Looking forward to going back for the DLC.
Gamepass.

Glad I waited to play this. I really enjoyed my single playthrough, managed to 100% without having to replay anything, but I think if I paid full price (or anything >$40) I would have come away slightly disappointed.
Gamepass.

Did I finish this? No. Did I play this for significantly longer than any other game of this genre? Yes.
Genuinely blew me away with how well they did. Can't wait for future installments.

Games with Gold.

Would I have paid for this? Not sure. Is it fun? Sure is.

Played on gamepass.

I have a personal revulsion to these types of games, so...
Got in Gamepass.

Unless you're a die hard 94 fan, this probably isn't worth your time.
Without spoilers, though from the name alone you could guess where this one is going, I enjoyed my time with Call of the Sea.

Puzzles were all solvable without and giant leaps of logic or guessing, and were well spread about the 3D space, except for one near the end that requires a large amount of walking should you get it wrong or even mess up midway through.

Speaking of, my one and only complaint was that the game gives you two speeds. Snail in quicksand, and camel in the mud. It does get aggravating being locked into a snail's pace while you traverse an area you've been in for more than 5 minutes going point to point.
