Gave me the only thing I wanted in my youth: more Red Alert 2. Adds a new faction, new gameplay elements, and a load of story missions. Worth every penny.

An amazing iteration on its predecessors, Red Alert and Tiberian Sun. The gameplay from Tiberian Sun has been sped up and fine tuned with creative units and a lot of polish. The hilarious, campy story and cutscenes set it apart from everything else out there, now and forever. Still listening to the OST to this day (and it holds up!).

Made an already revolutionary title essentially perfect. This was really the only game in town for a long while.

A hand me down from my brothers that introduced me to the world of ARPGs. A great singleplayer game at the time, the fascinating 4-player co op online mode really made the title stand out. Years later Blizzard is still attempting to recapture the special spark of this title.

My first MarioKart title. Made a huge impact on me when I was younger, but later entries in the series serve to show the massive flaws in this game. Levels are sparse and empty, the frame rate is awful for a racing title, and overall things just aren't as sharp as they need to be for a racing title.

A fascinating gameplay experiment based on the lovely Ocarina of Time. The 3 day cycle permeates everything about the game, and creates an absolutely fascinating gameplay and story experience that has never been replicated since. The world is full of NPCs and mini stories which get fleshed out more and more with each cycle, which ultimately led to some really incredible storytelling. The setting's dark, moody atmosphere is an incredible achievement for an N64 title.

An extremely good first try at the 3D Zelda formula. A little rough around the edges, and a little dull in areas, but still a revolutionary title.

A revolutionary fighting game that started a franchise which is still going strong. The source of endless cycles of stress, relief, and grief from multiplayer matches with my closest friends.

When I was young, I got my parents to rent an N64 just to play this game.
Yeah, you could just rent game consoles back in the day.

You could pick out a load of flaws with modern standards, but at the time this was simply the best FPS out there. There are those who fondly look back on GoldenEye as the ultimate multiplayer N64 experience, but Perfect Dark improved upon that game in every single aspect.
- An expansive, if not terribly well made, story mode which takes the player to interesting places
- An expansive, if not terribly well made, story mode which takes the player to interesting places
- AI that's actually quite exceptional for an N64 title
- A simple aiming system which works well with the N64 controller's limitations
- A multitude of creative weapons that almost all feel satisfying to use
- Multiplayer maps and options that meant you could play this game with friends for years

My first FPS, passed down to me by my father. While the gameplay is simply unacceptable now, this game was one of the pioneers of 3d shooters.

A little bit too unpolished and dry for an XCOM veteran.
They really forgot to put everything that made Dead Space good in this. I beat it in one sitting and only managed to power through to the end because of the two bottles of wine I drank while I played it. No horror, no interesting weapons, weird janky cover shooter elements added because they thought people enjoyed that weird segment at the end of 2. The game was designed to be played in co-op and gets messy if you play it solo.
The perfect MarioKart for the Switch. Full stop.

A near flawless version of MarioKart only held back by a bizarre console. By far one of the best games for the Wii U. Fun for anyone with even a passing interest in video games.

I have played this game more than I have any other. It's a perfectly polished action RPG package with incredible depth, that unfortunately always gets boiled down to a set of simple, easy-to-repeat steps by experienced players. Once you start looking into external strategy guides and builds, enjoyment of this game quickly fades.

I wouldn't be able to play this game now, but when it was the only game on my Game Boy Pocket it was life itself. Like many level-based RPGs any problem can be solved by simply grinding long enough to make your part members crazy overpowered, which is exactly what younger me did.

I have clear memories of watching the E3 tech demos of this game over and over before it was released. Finally playing this game a few months later was heaven at the time. In retrospect, the game was revolutionary, but is held back by many of the same problems present in Half Life 1.

Honestly, the best co op game of all time. Oh, also there's a pretty darn good singleplayer story in there, too.
«Better with friends»
One of the best realized fictional settings ever. Absolutely worth the price of admission if you're into worldbuilding at all. Oh, and that's just one aspect of a beautiful, multifaceted game with so many positives it's impossible to list.
