Revolutionary FPS, added an unexpected amount of depth to the gameplay formula of DOOM (2016), to create a strategic, demanding, dynamic and incredibly satisfying game.

This game alone I can play all year long and won't get bored. Played each mission multiple times, tried plenty of variations, tortured the game in every way possible, but it refused to show any weakness.
Outstanding gameplay, marvelous story, killer graphics, realistic effects and characters, balanced resources, exceptional attention to details, stunning music collection and heart touching ending. I can go on and on and still won't do any justice to how great this game is. Hats off, Hideo Kojima.

Just completed. Outstanding game play, beautiful graphics and cinematic and moderate difficulty. Most suitable for kids, no violence, sexual references, blood or any adult thing. Great job devs...

Total mind boggling experience playing this sci-fi/fantasy/action/adventure game (who knows the right genre?). The protagonist is a traveler, searching for a girl, and encounters strange world events till the end. The choice of weapons, controls, AI, game interaction, everything is so perfectly crafted, you can't even imagine making it better. A must-play-before-you-die title...

Simply outstanding.
Comparing with Skyrim, the Elder Scroll, this game is an upgrade in many aspects. Beautiful graphics, catching story, versatile open world, cutting-edge AI and plethora of friends/foes/missions. I absolutely loved every minute of game play. Because of brutal violence, sexual references, profanity, etc. not at all recommended for people below 18, and I'm serious here. Once you finish the game, you really feel an emptiness and wish that there was more. For those really craving, you must try the expansion pack Blood and Wine.

Very interesting, dynamic, fun to play game with deep message against war.
Man! Where do we start on this one. This game is lengthy, very lengthy. In order to come to a point to sense of accomplishment, you play 100+ hours. The game starts in a near-doom-era and takes you to a safe vault right when a nuclear war starts. You wake up alone with your family lost and search for your boy. In your quest, you get to meet a variety of factions, The Minutemen, Mutants, Synthetic humans, Raiders, The Railroad, The Institute, Ghouls, Gunners, Children of Atom, ... the list goes on. You have to carefully choose your side among the 4 major groups, because in the end you can ally with only one and the rest will have to be destroyed. The game is dark and foggy (understandably), the choice of weapons is strange and initially the resources (even bullets) are scarce. Your character gets upgraded on each level-up (I reached to level 62), but you can NEVER fully upgrade your character with all skills available. AI of this game is superb, you also have companions - dog, robot, human, mutant, ghoul, whatever you like. There are 3 different cities you get missions in, major one being Common wealth. Missions are always available, there's no limit on how many you can get. Even bartenders have a few for you. So, practically you can never "complete" the game, and you don't have to. You can finish the main story and be satisfied. There's a moral lesson in this game. Each decision you make results in consequences, which you'll have to live with. A true reflection of the real lives of people in power. It is not easy to make it a happy ending for everyone. PS: A ton of violence, gore and coarse language. Not at all suitable for minors.

Since Far cry 1 in 2004, I haven't been disappointed by the Franchise. Apart from abusive language, I absolutely loved everything about FC4. They kept everything we loved in earlier versions and this time has the right play time. Great graphics, fun to play, optimal controls, alternate story "Shangri-la" is something unique and enjoyable. Also, the gameplay time is just right. Caution! This game is NOT for children.

Realm of the Mad God gets a lot of flack for its graphics and for its shop mechanics, but at it’s core  it’s a massively fun idea that has kept me coming back year after year.  I haven’t played it nonstop, but i have the better part of 100 hours with it over 5 years and every time I’ve picked it up I’ve had a blast.

And this is also coming from someone who hasn’t played any other major bullet hell games!  Because of this game, I’m looking into playing another title in the genre.  I do however like rogue likes and I like mmo or social games, so those are pluses for me.  The loot system which has you collecting stat potions and rare gear to progress after leveling stops at level 20, and the sheer difficulty of some dungeons requiring you to team up with others are both aspects that I adore.

The worst part of the game is definitely lag or server issues on the rare instance that they occur, but this does not even come close to outweighing the pros.  The game is being updated to Unity with RotMG: Exalt here (entering open Beta within the next month), and I’m super excited for all of the updates that will come with it.

The beautiful simplicity of these games is what makes them such timeless classics. There's just a certain magic to the world these games bring you into that even though its a repetitive gameplay loop on portable hardware from 1989. These titles are well deserving of the empire they have spawned. I would HIGHLY recommend playing a nuzlocke run of any of the main line pokemon games if you haven't already. Also reading the comics at nuzlocke.com if that's your thing.

This is one of those "I know this is good but I don't want to take the time to learn to appreciate it" types of games. The level of complexity and customizability in this game is truly exceptional, and the hands-off player control reminds me of how great old rpg's are.
I respect the attempt but the gameplay just isn't fun yet. Particularly the dungeon gameplay is monotonous and unenjoyable due to the poor controls of your character. There is a decent amount of depth behind this game, but its just barred by a lack of enjoyable play.
For a handheld game in 1989, I guess this is a decent attempt. However, the green and black blurred Gameboy graphics are legitimately nauseating. I couldn't play this for more than like 5 minutes.
Expanding on the first game, rather than replacing, this iteration claims its status as the rightful sequel to the NES classic. The more varied worlds, powerups, and minibosses spice the gameplay up a decent amount from the first game. The lack of saving still pains this series, at least for me. I know I sound like a broken record but the artificial difficulty just irks me.
Yeah I know this game is just a reskin of Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic, but that's not why I don't like it. My main issue is that it's just not that fun. In a game where platforming is the only element, it just doesn't really deliver in that area. Not to mention, this game is even more difficult than the first.
In a series as reiterative as Final Fantasy, it's important to note how original the first entry is. Final Fantasy, along with Dragon Quest, really created the format for JRPG's for years. Most of the features commonly found in a modern JRPG can be found back in 1987 in Final Fantasy. What makes Final Fantasy interesting is the areas where it strays from the modern dogma of design. The slower, more deliberate combat, when combined with the heightened difficulty, gives the game a more tactical sense. That isn't to say the difficulty is all positive. The seemingly endless glitches, along with cheap enemy mechanics, can make this game feel just ridiculous. For example, I chose a thief at the beginning, only to find out later that the speed mechanic was broken to the point of nonexistence. Thus, I was starting this already difficult game with a practically useless party member. The cheap instakill enemies made some of the dungeons unbearable. Despite all that, the game still maintains its status as a fun and rewarding adventure.

Man, what a regression. I do respect the attempt to strike out and innovate rather than tweaking the first Zelda. Unfortunately, that attempt did not pan out. The exploration aspect of the game remains, but without the solid dungeon crawling it really falls flat. Not only does the side scrolling gameplay not work with the format as well, but it also brings in the artificial difficulty the first game managed to avoid. The mechanics still hold up as a decent 8-bit adventure, but the essence of the first game is lost.
Cool concept, but the mechanics just weren't there. Many parts of this game seem unnecessarily difficult. Ex. why are there enemies on the ground if you can't aim your weapon down? I respect the attempt to blend platforming, action, and exploration, but the execution fell short.
This game is a rarity of the 8-bit era, in that it sources its depth from content, rather than difficulty. In a time when games were designed to keep you playing the same levels over and over to pad out playtime, Zelda goes against the grain. Between overworld exploration and varied dungeon gameplay, there's plenty to find and enjoy in this game to keep you playing for hours. I used a guide online during my playthrough, just due to time limitations. This did not dampen my experience at all, as the dungeon gameplay was fun enough to stand alone without as much exploration. Being able to save rather than playing the whole game in one sitting is a huge leg up on other contemporaries that helps this game feel like a more complete adventure rather than a collection of levels.
Obviously a classic. Really tight gameplay for the system. Unfortunately, as a product of its time, the game suffers from artificial difficulty. This combined with the lack of saving makes it consistently frustrating to play.
Obviously a great game. Not much to talk about, as it's essentially an improved rehash of the first installment. Not like that's an issue. It's not.
