I've been playing X Rebirth Since 09.07.2013.
Initially in the Alpha, where it hasn't been on Steam yet and then in Beta and after the Release of X Rebirth must honestly admit to her ... I had the Snout full of all The Bugs.
It was Hells on Earth to do anything in the Alpha at all, but that's normal for an Alpha.
Then at some point the Beta came, one noticed so slowly, it goes Up, but after each fixed bug followed the next One, where previously Garno one was. That we (i.e. the Testers), our Bernd said, that the Game was not yet Ripened FOR release, unfortunately followed the answer that could not be postponed, since the Publisher, i.e. in the Case of Deep Silver, Presses (What I do not understand, see GTA V , shortly before the Release it was moved again). Okay, nothing like that we kept going and trying to locate as many BUGs as possible. But there were just too many. The DevForum was showered with Hundreds of BUGs. It felt Thousands.
Add to that this unplayability of the Game, in terms of performance. Did I buy an AMD Radeon HD 7970 OC for X Rebirth at the time and had hoped it would go better ... At PoPo ... On my other PC with a single P4 and an ATI Radeon HD4850, the Game ran much faster. Sometimes Even with up to 20fps more.
But... X Rebirth Developed ... It developed slowly, but you can see the Progress.
After the Release, the Campaign was not Playable. Why? No Idea what the Devs did while the Beta Could still be done. So Recruit technicians and the Rhanas also flew to the Solar Power Plant. But after the Release, it didn't work anymore. Why and Why, no Idea.
But it has been fixed. And a lot of other Things, too.
X Rebirth didn't have an easy start, even if we, the Testers, didn't have to pay for X Rebirth, it was still very annoying that you couldn't play it. Sure, we still have Access to various Debug Tools (cheats), for example, to make the Game run faster (anyway, Game can crash as a result). But they are Elementary Tools to test whether the Economy is right.
In Each Case, I put the Game in the "Corner" after 2 Weeks after the release and just watched the DevChat. Have kept looking at the Great Beta Updates. But X Rebirth Took a very long time to get to where it stands now.
Sure, X Rebirth is still not Perfect now. Quite the Opposite. Egosoft still needs to do a lot of improvement, but the Most important thing is now. You can play the Campaign. The FPS no longer fall as low in DeVries that it becomes a Slideshow. And a lot of other Things are working now, too.
Positives/Negatives: There are some Things, but these have already been written here, so I don't have to write anything about them there.
This Review serves only to Show people who rate the Game poorly that X Rebirth, even if it takes a Long time, is getting better and better. One must not forget that X Rebirth Was developed by a small Dev team and it certainly does not have the Means at its disposal, which is available to a Microsoft Game Studio or other Large Gamestudios.
For my Part, I can recommend X Rebirth For any Sci-fi player, if they also accept the Game may find a little boverted. But it's getting better and better. And I'm proud of that. To have been proud of the Game.
If any People think what the Xearox writes that it was a Beta Tester that looks at The Credits. Left Side at Testing Teams;-) Christopher "Xearox" Hahnen;-)
And now I wish you all a Happy Game in X Rebirth And hope you continue to check out the new Updates;-)
