A visual novel with an interesting premise. A horror and mystery mix, with supernatural elements. This is a re-release after the other version was removed from the store. Right now, the achievements won’t unlock on Steam. I hope this issue will be resolved soon. I had fun reading it and thus recommend.
A nice and free tactical turn-based rpg, with a simple story and many levels to complete. However, the UI is a bit messy and, in some levels, I had difficulty selecting “attack the target” which is really important in those games.
With the recent resolution fix, I can play the game. A horror-exploration game in which you explore a construction site during the night, while avoiding the woman’s spirit (jump scare). Nothing extraordinary and it’s dark as heck. Yes, you have night vision, but even with it, your sight’s range is limited. It’s not my type of games, too, and thus it’s difficult to recommend. However, you might lilke Alice | 愛莉澄.
A pretty short VN made in Twine about two roommates. One got really big breasts and the other seems romantically interested in her. After an easy fetch quest, you can see how it end. (With a sexy yuri scene obviously!)
A quick beat-em-up / hack and slash. One play through can take no more than 20-30 minutes. Not much story, but you can kick some aliens ass. Besides, it’s free.
A horror-exploration game where you must take pictures of ghosts in a rundown town. A cool concept on paper (remind me of Fatal Frame a tiny bit) but the game is bad. The controls are manageable, but the graphics are horrible. The music and sound effects aren’t horrific and, even after I explored some part of the map, I still didn’t know what to do to progress. Skip this one.

“Be You” is a strange visual novel-like game. You can finish it in less then 10 minutes. You have to choose some elements that should dictate your character personality, like what’s your feeling’s color, what time of the day you prefer, favorite book, etc. But the choices don’t affect the story as a whole, only the ending you’ll get. After that, you are thrown into a weird story that make absolutely no sense. The only way I can describe the plot is as an “odd fairy-tale / Lovecraft-lite / esoteric stuff combo” with “childish writing”. I know it’s free, but I can’t recommend “Be You”.
"Be You 2", another very strange visual novel. In the beginning, it's about taking care of Bonnie, the main character’s daughter, by making choices during some rather odd events. After the scene where the hero die, the story turns into a strange "Lovecraft-lite / psychedelic" combo and I had a rather strange ending, due to the direction the plot was taking. Bonnie became a writer. I did another playthrough and I got the ending where Bonnie educates people to respect nature. Anyway, "Be You 2" is a kind of weird artistic experience. There's the possibility of having Voice Over during the whole story but I mute it. The VO was too bad. It's a free game, and although it's better than the first Be You, I can't personally recommend it.

Choice of Robots is one great story. Unlike other “Choice of Games” I had tried, there are many, many paths and endings to find. You can choose to romance someone or not. The plot, involving the possible sentience of robots, is great.
 Heck, during certain paths, it’s possible to:
 1. Conquer Alaska (!)
 2. Start a war with the USA.
 3. Help or stop a robot uprising.
 4. Die (Yes, there are “you died” endings).
 If you liked “Choice of Games” other products, you’ll have a great time with Choice of Robots.
The + * A game with amazing art and exquisite music. It's like being in a world of Studio Ghibli! * A simple, yet bewitching story, like a good children's tale. * Attaching characters. The villains have style! * The concept of traveling between two worlds through magic. * All the spells that Oliver can learn. * The side quests, "mending" broken hearts, etc. The - * The fighting system, which is a big part of the game. The AI is screwed up, even with human allies. It's hard to dodge attacks. The "defense" option has a "cooldown", like other menus in combat, so you may find yourself unable to defend against a special attack. The MP gets drained too quickly. Oliver shares his HP with his familiars, so even when you have two of them, if the one whom you control dies, you've lost! * It is possible to continue after losing a fight, but this costs you 10% of your money, and since money is earned very slowly… * A need to grind a lot, as the fights quickly become tougher, and the EXP gain is low. * You will have to do a lot of back and forth. For example: In a dungeon, if you're too low in MP, you'll have to go back outside, buy an item to restore it - if you have the money to do so -, return to the dungeon, and hope you don't get killed in a fight. * The familiars. Everything around them is complex. Like Oliver, they level up with EXP. We can "evolve" them with treats, but when they evolve, their levels go back to 1, so more grinding. It is possible, later in the game, to capture several of them, but this system seems too much based on luck. * The tutorials are endless! Even after Oliver goes to the other world and saves the cat king in a dungeon, we are still bombarded with information. How to use new spells, the different "types" of familiars, how to change the "leader / captain" in battle, etc. I want to play the game, I don't need to receive an explanation for everything. In short, as much as this game amazes me with its artistic presentation, its scenario, its music and its characters, its "gameplay" makes me feel discouraged and frustrated, and I won't be able to finish it. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. Yet I love the story and its universe!

The + * Still as beautiful artistically as in the first Ni No Kuni. I feel good Ghibli vibes there. * The characters are endearing. * The hack'n'slash fighting system is much better than the one in the first game. * Less "grinding" needed to progress. * The tutorial is much better compared to Ni No Kuni 1. It's short and you can quickly get into the adventure. The - * The story. I loved the one from the first game, but the one from Ni No Kuni 2 is meh. So much meh, that I don't feel like continuing to play. I'm now in chapter 4, the quest for the flaming rose. * The mini-games integrated into the main quest. I like the one where you manage the kingdom, but not the one of the "armies fighting each other for territory", and since you must do it often to progress in-game... In the end, as with the first game, I had a mixed experience. I still recommend it, because its "gameplay" is better than the first game, and Ghibli's "touch" is sublime.
Compelling, more so than the first.  Technically, it also performs SIGNIFICANTLY better than the previous game.  That is such an improvement.  My major complaint would be that episode 5 just feels unfinished in terms of characters.  The Catwoman story in particular seems like such a waste from game to game,  to the point you wonder if the developers were mandated to include a cat woman story be included.   
I'm a big fan of the Neptunia franchise because of the humor and the characters. I do believe the CPU Goddess are too much sexualized but still, I had fun with this RPG.

I really wanted to recommend this story, but not only did this sequel disappoint me compared to Without Within 1, it's also linear (no choice, only one ending), and I finished it in 45 minutes (the rest of the time was for the cards). Much too short for its price. I like linear stories, but when they're interesting, and Without Within 2 isn't one of them. I think its the "touristic" aspect that turned me off.

A free visual novel with Vinty. The story is meh but still fun to read.
This game has great graphics, all customized, good music, good fighting system, and a very interesting storyline. So why the negative review? First of all, the game is called Sweet Lily Dreams. So I was expecting Lily to be the heroine of this story. Well no, Faith has the role, and I don't like this character at all. Lily's role is minor. Speaking of Lily, her character has a lot of contractions. She seems to be a 4-5 year old girl and yet at many times she talks like a mature older person. Also, she shows no fear, even though she is supposed to fight horrible monsters in nightmarish worlds with Faith and her companions. Do I need to say that these worlds are based on horror classics, such as Saw or the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? I don't know of any 4-5 year old girls in real life who wouldn't be afraid in these kinds of situations. Not Lily, anyway. Also, although the story of Sweet Lily Dreams has a lot of potential, with the world of dreams, nightmares and self-discovery, it's unfortunately full of standard fights (the monsters moving around in the different dungeons) that are impossible to avoid if you don't want to grind too much. Very labyrinthine dungeons (easy to get lost) and, which made me leave the game and never finish it, quite complex puzzles and enigmas, most of which can't be skipped. Its price is also very high for a game made with RPG Maker. So I can only recommend it to players looking for a good challenge with puzzles, riddles, and labyrinthine dungeons.

Exceptional
The 39 Steps in visual novel format, with great dubbing (Those accents! So great!) and small interactions. Either click to examine something or follow the arrows (like a QTE event) to do an action. You got a good 3-4 hours of reading. Recommended.
A very interesting game. All the images (characters, monsters, places) seem to have been drawn by hand, although the result is more or less convincing. Well, everyone has his own tastes. The fights are special. Rather than confronting our opponents with swords, magic, or futuristic weapons, we engage them in a small debate. These are the types of dialogue and philosophy we use as weapons. Of course, the basic principle of any good RPG (dropping points to 0 to eliminate the enemy) is the same, but I found the idea of fighting with dialogue very original. The dialogues between our heroes are also unique, with a certain penchant for grand words and philosophy. Recommended, if you can appreciate the graphic style.
