As far as post-millennial awareness games go, this could've been far worse, especially considering it comes from Ninja Theory. Slow and whispery with ham and cheese acting accompanied by a stale hack and slash system doesn't make up for how pretty it looks but that's ok because it's about psychosis. I'm thankful I don't suffer from similar issues myself but I can't imagine this makes people more appreciative of how able they are when they have to deal with pretentious narrative trumping the "message." It checks off a bunch of boxes you have to expect from AAA-Indie at this point - if you love tearing up when female protags find their strength like the lyrics to Fight Song, you'll probably also enjoy this. The very definition of meh. Imagine Dear Esther but you can mash X.

Hades is one of the most flawless video games/pieces of art I have ever experienced.
The gameplay loop is incredibly satisfying, the many linking systems increase the longevity from 7 hours to 70 hours and more
The music is tremendous, the art style and visual are gorgeous. The story, characters, voice acting and dialogue had me completely hooked.
Do yourself a favour and buy this game, you probably already have it though

This game is simple, fun, funny, good to spend some time with friends and have some good laughs.
This is probably my favorite game from the new trilogy, I absolutely loved the mechanics, the feeling of the game, but the spotlight goes to this version of Lara Croft who we watch grow as a character, from an explorer to a survivor, doing whatever she needs to do.
I find this game intriguing, creative, very interesting, it's something that I jump into from time to time to see what outcomes I can achieve. I feel like it's a little bit hard to understand how to do things and I end up always in the same places, but I guess it's a matter of dedicating to the game and understanding how to play it.
I loved this game back on Playstation 3, It featured many of my favorite superheroes in epic battles and a very creative storyline that made me start reading comics! Injustice comics is my favorite comic series to this day!
Apex Legends is the one battle royale I actually enjoy. I never liked this specific genre, but this game excels in every single aspect of it and brings some new things to the table that the others don't, especially the story, the characters, and the movement that is amazing and fulfilling.
I've had the time where I quit this game for months, as a week one player I hated to see the places where the management was taking this free to play, making it feel unrewarding for anyone who didn't have rivers of money to spend. Slowly, things got back on track, I got back into the game, and even with all its problems (servers, matchmaking, overpriced cosmetics, repetitive events) I still like this game and I'm excited to see what the future holds for it.

This came could've been so much more, it's a true example of how "A rushed game is never good". You can see it's unfinished, unpolished, and full of limitations in areas that a game that promised so much should never have. I still enjoyed every minute of it, I played through the story, I grew attached to the characters, and I think the story is the one thing where this game didn't fail to deliver. It's different, it's new, it's compelling, it got me wanting to play more and to find out what was going to happen. I went for 100% completion and I don't regret it. I wish things had been better for Cyperpunk.
The game has its limitations, but it's incredibly fun and I keep coming back to it from time to time, it never fails to make me have fun.
the quality of this collection is unconsistant and make a bad experience. It s stupid things not well think that kill the whole. At least we the implemented high framerate. Im angry to have buy this, i should have just does on emulator
Loop Hero is a combination of dungeon crawler, deck building and idle game - although none of these labels describe it really well.
In the game, the player character runs arround in a looped path and places locations and objects (mountains, swamps, forrests) on the map via cards the player gets while moving. These locations grant the player new resources (needed for basebuilding between runs) and new equipment, as well as new cards, but they also spawn enemies the passing player will have to fight.
The core mechanic is risk vs. reward. One must either choose to exit with all the loot while at the starting point of the loop, or risk loosing a portion of the loot if one dies or runs away mid loop.
In sum, the game works really well. The aesthetics are that of an old pc game, which is highly refreshing after playing so many pixel art games, where pixel art means NES or SNES style.
Definitely give this one a go if this sounds like your thing.

One of those games that just makes you smile. Pikuniku is a lovely, physics based 2d platformer, with genuinely funny writing. It is very short, but intended to be played thru multiple times. If you are not put off by the aesthetics and don't mind jumping arround, definitely play.

I enjoyed to story and the setting (Poland), although I'm not personally a fan of supernatural played straight. It is revealed from the get go, that you basicly have magic powers as a medium, as you can communicate with the spirit realm.
I didn't get excited over the mechanics, but they do not get in the way either. Voice acting is ok, music and other audio is good. The puzzles are ok.
The atmosphere is mostly good in its creepiness. There are some jumpscares, which seemed cheap and unnenecessary.
Silent Hill games are a clear inspiration for the The Medium and, indeed, there is some music by SH composer Akira Yamaoka in the game. I might recommend the game to the fans of those games, if one is willing to accept more direct supernatural themes, European setting, and more puzzle oriented gameplay.

If I played the original when it first came out, or if I played this BEFORE playing NieR:Automata, I probably would've given this a much higher score. Unfortunately coming into this game after Automata I can only really see the flaws.
A lot of features that made Automata enjoyable are gone here. For starters, you cannot fast travel/teleport your way around the world once you explored every area. You have to travel on foot to get anywhere in this game, which makes exploration tedious rather than fun. It doesn't help that the world itself just isn't as interesting as in Automata.
Automata is one of the few RPGs where I actually LOVED doing the side quests because I wanted to learn more about the unique inhabitants of the world. By contrast, the human NPCs in Replicant are all so bland I have no interest in doing side quests for them and I don't really feel anything for them when something bad happens to them.
Also I really hate how, in order to unlock every ending, you have to acquire every single weapon. All 33 of them. And a few of them you have to purchase, and they're really expensive. Whereas in Automata you can gain money by defeating enemies, here your only form of making money is by selling items and doing side quests. So you have to GRIND in order to get the full experience. Why would you do that?
I really feel bad because I wanted to like this game but whenever I play it I always think to myself "This is like Automata but worse". I shouldn't be playing a game and keep comparing it to another.
This is not a bad game by any means; the boss battles are really creative, satisfying, and fun, the soundtrack is excellent as usual, and the story is pretty fascinating. But it's dated in a lot of ways and shows the original's lack of budget (the entire Forest of Myth section is literally a black screen with text that you have to answer riddles to). If you're looking into NieR you should either play this first and get the full experience with Automata or just skip this game altogether. Automata holds up well enough on its own and is just an overall much better, more magical experience.

Concise Review:
Fun concept and setting. Repetitive missions and environment. Limited enemy variety is my biggest gripe. There are about 5 types of raptors, a T. rex, a triceratops and the armoured shell Dino. That’s it. Average gunplay. Average but short progression system.
Journal Style Review:
Beat the first mission and I’m not sure how I feel about the game so far. The gunplay might get better but I’d say it feels a bit clunky to begin. The graphics look fine but there is so much mist/fog that it’s hard to see things. Shooting mutated dinos is a fun easy shooter concept though so I hope it has a bit more to it than it immediately shows. I’m hoping the upgrades keep it feeling fresh and with more upgrades and practise I enjoy the gunplay more. I can see the potential.
Second mission I used a new character and the mini gun and pistol and I liked the weapons and character more. It was better. I don’t think this game will have a ton of longevity but it might be a little fun for awhile.
After the third mission Im anticipating this game getting repetitive. 80% of the dinos seem to be raptors. There are at least 5 different types of raptors but I still need more enemy variety. Besides raptors ive seen a triceratops, the heavy shelled one with the clubbed tail and a T. rex. Not enough.
The game has been clicking a bit more. The mini gun is great and I just unlocked the machine gun and the smg which both feel good. The gunplay has improved to passable now. I think the first 3 weapons I tried out were my least favourite so far. I also am getting a bit drawn in with the upgrades. There are some good ones I want to check out. That’s what’s going to keep me playing. When the upgrades lose their appeal I’ll be done. The game is repetitive due to limited side missions and dinos variety. I only ever play for about 45 to an hour.
Ive beaten all the missions now. Which doesn’t really matter because the missions all felt the same. It’s all just running around shooting dinos and pushing buttons in a similar environment. I have at least a few more missions in me because there are some more upgrades and guns that I want to try out but that’s the only thing pulling me back. Pretty bare bones game at the moment but it’s in game preview so it makes sense.
I wish the movement was less janky. It takes too long to climb up ledges. It does feel a bit stiff.
Fully upgraded the machine gun. There is nothing else motivating me to play anymore. I’m calling it.
Final Score: B

Started on 3/21/2021, ended on 4/28/2021. Around 20 hours of gameplay. I found it very entertaining and its diffuculty could only make it more addictive. The story is as stupid as you can expect and the locations are amazing.
