DLC Review:

Thoughts on Two Colonels:

I’m not big a fan of the flamethrower and it’s the main weapon so that’s not great. Also this game has the darkest levels. I can barely see anything. I find the underground Russian tunnels the least interesting of the metro exodus locations. Overall I don’t think this dlc worth playing. I really enjoyed the main game but this dlc is the worst parts and adds nothing new.

Thoughts on Sam’s Story:

The opening is immediately better than 2Cs. It has the journey through the world vibes to it which the first is missing.

Much better than 2Cs. Not nearly as good as I remembered the main game being.

Original Review:

Metro Exodus has an amazing atmosphere, top quality visuals, and amazing locations. Every location brings something new. The cannibal base, the pimp overload, the underground mole level, the forest people, the snowy city to end the game, these are just some of the interesting and unique places you get to go. It was a great journey. Are the characters dumb? Yes they are but it somehow has a charm about it that makes it work. Maybe because I was high. Fantastic high game, definitely adds to the enjoyment.

The customization and resource management is well done, not ground breaking or anything but there is enough to keep it interesting. The semi open world fits the game very well. I thoroughly enjoyed Metro Exodus.

Although worst than Megaton Edition, the 20th Anniversary World Tour has its highlights: the new 5th episode, and the improved lightning.

Summary:

+++ 5th episode + improved lightning
--- Clunky controls + pixelized graphics (somewhat similar to the original, worst than Megaton Edition) + new duke talk is rubbish, way worse than the original
Damn. I have never felt such joy playing a video game in a long long time.

so here’s my overall opinion on the game:
it can be extremely repetitive especially when you get forcefully cornered by baddies far too many times, a few enemies like the arachnotrons are extremely underused and only appear for at least one level, jumpscares don’t feel earned at all other than the light jumpscare at the end, the spaceship corridor levels end up blending together, and reloading exists so automatically that’s a couple points off.
but i still LOVED doom 3. it’s extremely rewarding and the few pieces of music are just so effective and set up the story so well, especially when encountering the cyberdemon.
I don’t recommend going into this as a doom game, but for what it’s worth, it’s a really great time

This game looks fantastic. The greenery is so well done. The semi open world was an interesting take and this game still has the great combat feel of the last uncharted. The dialogue and story is still interesting but it doesn’t have the same charm that uncharted 4 has. It’s still a very fun campaign. It has some great action sequences as well. It’s main flaw isn’t that it isn’t as good as uncharted 4 but that is not a fair criticism.

Final Score: A-
Titanfall 2 had crazy good multiplayer. It was so smooth. It lacked a little bit of longevity for whatever reason but it was very fun while it lasted. The campaign was also very fun.

Final Score: A-
Gears of War 4 I thought was very good. I thought the campaign was fun except for the robot part. I thought the multiplayer was very fun. It was a solid time.

Final Score: A-
The story is cute (super sad and disheartening, but cute), and the visuals are beautiful. However, the main issue with this game is that it feels like a demo, and not only for how short it is (20 minutes at most) but instead, the really disconnected gameplay. It feels like a collection of poorly designed minigames that add little to the story, and not to mention the terrible controls.
The gameplay is not impressive but decent.
Not my cup of tea but not a bad game by any means. I was able to get about an hour and a half of genuine enjoyment before putting it down. You can get it on sale on Steam super cheap so it won't hurt to try it out if you haven't.
The story and characterizations are brilliant, but the gameplay itself is REALLY difficult and outdated; any bad choice can doom you and you NEED a guide/walkthrough in order to get a good endgame. Also if you take too long playing a character at a time AM will abruptly end the stage because he got bored. I could only play for like an hour before bailing out.

This game really needs a remaster because it's an excellent adaptation of the classic short story hampered by poor graphics, punishing gameplay and outdated, difficult mechanics. This is one of the few games that's actually more fun to watch than to play, so watch a playthrough to get the best experience out of this.
I loved the story, and the human connection. And I think games can be a powerful tool to bring attention to social issues, and personal stories.
But you definitively need to give me more than just pressing a button for minutes and minutes with little reward, otherwise, just make a video and put it on YouTube.
The whole phone, and messaging app idea works really well for the immersion, and it's kinda quirky and fun, but the novelty wears off VERY quickly, and even becomes annoying at times.
Again, I loved the story, and it has a lot of potential from the storytelling standpoint, but the gameplay it's just really not there, I feel like passing slides on a presentation.
This has reached the point where it "increases" difficulty by just throwing a ton of guys at you and I'm not anywhere near the end of the campaign for it to be worth sticking out. The early stages show a lot of promise that the back half does not live up to. Fortunately, the series has been iterated enough to this point where there are better alternatives out there.
The story is pretty good, but short. At its best the game is interesting, but the text adventure parts at beginning and end of the game are frustrating. Sometimes you know what you want to do, but game just does not work how you want it to work. The worst case was that "Look at coats" was not a correct command, but "look at the coats" worked... The other, non-text adventure parts are more clear and require some logical thinking and problem solving.
I saw it had a lot of bugs at first and I was going to play it when it first released but never got around to it. Now that I started it at the end of 2019, the game seems to have received a lot of support and updates by the developer, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the experience was for an RPGMaker game. It doesn't push boundaries and, at times, I thought it was rather boring - but the quality of the game really picks up the more you play. The story is actually really good and the amount of stuff to do in this game is huge. Worth so much more than being free. Music is great too, wow. If you want a classic RPG experience and have hours to sink, look no further. This is probably one of the best free RPGMaker games around if you look past some shortcomings. Keeping an eye on this guy in the future

Probably the only game series to combat GTA and this was the first. Rather than have a story like GTA San Andreas they made it much more different whilst also keeping the gang life representation in there. Your boss essentially Julius Little is actually a cool dude, and the reason why he started the gang was so he could rid the city of crime by being the crime. The ending was surprisingly a great twist and subverts your expectations well I prefer the free aiming more than the classic GTAs and GTA IV's shooting, had a big open world from the get go, did the smart thing and gave your character a gun first 10 minutes so you can mess around and have fun without dealing with boring get one guy who's in one place to another place missions. The game is extremely repetitive however, with a pretty dumb idea that you need to complete side missions to fill a respect bar. Once that bar is full you can play the actual story. The game would've been 100x better if instead of making the side missions mandatory, you just made them SIDE missions. The customisation is also great, I enjoyed the games surprising encouragement of customisation, with each bit of clothing giving you a respect boost so the game is less repetitive. I actually prefer this game of GTA III, and IV so yeah, play it if you haven't already, it's fun although it does have a repetitive side. 8/10

I liked the setting and story for far cry 5. The visuals were great. The gameplay is familiar and still feels quite good. The far cry games have also felt very addicting to me. I just want to do one more thing. Although I still really enjoyed this game there are two reasons it is lower than Far Cry 4.
Reason #1 - I like hunting animals to get skins and use them for upgrades. I wish they kept that in this game. This is going to sound a bit hypocritical when you here the next reason.
Reason #2 - I’m now a bit fatigued of this formula. It’s a great formula and I was only fatigued near the end but it’s been done enough that it started to feel repetitive towards the end.

I still had a lot of fun with Far Cry 5.

Final Score: A
I had to give up before finishing the first episode. This game is markedly more dark and depressing than the original, making it an unpleasant experience (you get a puppy in the first episode only for it to be killed in the second), and the gameplay itself is super BORING. You don't have the awesome rewind time power that made the original stand out so you're mostly left wandering around doing menial tasks until something relevant happens.

There isn't much of a plot, and the actual story just makes me cringe. I'm really not convinced Sean fleeing was the only option, in fact I feel like if he stayed at the scene he might've had a fighting chance but by running away he doomed himself and his brother.

If you want more Life is Strange, consider reading the comics instead. There's nothing here.
