Anime Dark Souls. It's pretty fun if you like those two things.
it's not fun and the writing isn't funny.
Fun new twist Riot brings to the CCG genre. Still needs some variety and some balance tweaks (and a Draft mode) but incredebly solid foundation and the animation and sounds are fun.
Shoutout to two ingeniously simple innovations:

- The collection system that limits monetary progression making you savor it more
- That system that waits just a second befor auto passing making it look like I could have passed manually and thus not giving away my hand
Ori and the Blind Forest is reminded me of Hollow Knight. Everybody who knows me knows that's a high compliment.
The Visuals are gorgous (almost every screenshot could be a wallpaper) and the atmosphere is truely gripping.

The difficulty is quite challenging but for the most part it never feels unfair or frustrating.
Finally a special shoutout to the music and the savegame system that really added another layer:
The only downsides are a bit of a lack of intuitiv pathfinding resulting in some sections being a bit 'learning by doing' and that it look so gorgous, that sometimes it's a bit tricky to tell what is an ingame and what a visual element.
Took about 10h to complete and was a beautiful story and an experience I wouldn't want to miss :-)
Will certainly paly the next one!

camping is exhausting but this makes me want to go camping
If you liked the previous Zombie Army games, you will probably like this one too. It's the same fun formula, but don't expect a great story.

Bloodborne is a step in a new direction for the beloved Souls-series, however it still keeps what made the previous games so special. While surely not being for everyone, Bloodborne is very much worth buying if you're up for a challenge. It's time to die over and over again...
Bloodborne was my first FromSoftware game. When I bought it, I was very nervous that it would be too hard for me, and while it was very hard, especially in the beginning, I ended up loving it. Let's start with the gameplay. Just like the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne features simple yet satisfying combat. With 15 different weapons to choose from, which all have their own unique movesets, it's easy to invest a lot of time in the game. While this number of weapons isn't as big as the array of weapons found in a game like Dark Souls, the weapons are all unique, unlike in the previously mentioned game, where 5 different weapon might have the same moveset. This makes the weapons much more memorable, and also easier for newer players to get invested in.
The core of FromSoftware games are of course the bosses, and trust me, you won't be disappointed here. Bloodborne has a lot of bosses, and they are very challenging, so prepare to die a lot.
What makes Bloodborne so special is it's atmosphere. Unlike Dark Souls where the sound design often could be very weird and low quality, Bloodborne's sound design is different. Walking the streets of Yharnam while hearing the beasts waiting around the corner adds a layer of horror to the game. Add to this a beatiful art direction and a soundtrack that sure will give you goosebumps, and you've got a near perfect game.
The only thing I didn't enjoy was the Chalice Dungeons. These dungeons are many, but also very repetitive, and you're forced to go through these if you want the best gear in the game.
To summarize, Bloodborne's satisfying gameplay combined with it's creepy atmosphere makes it one of the best games, if not the best, FromSoftware has ever made.

When I was a kid I didn't own a SNES so I couldn't play this game on its time, now, the years have come, and as an adult, sadly I find a lot of issues within this game.
The first thing that came to my mind while playing this game and a thing that was so hard to get past, is that this isn't a Super Mario game, or at least not in a conventional way, the controls are tight and responsive but the level design is frustrating and unintuitive, it has some verticality and a puzzle design that simply doesn't work, and a lot of times you'll find yourself just wandering around in circles because of its maze-like environments, the navigation is not that fun, but what makes it more annoying is the baby mechanic: if an enemy or projectile hits you, automatically Mario will be floating on an erratic bubble, and if you don't touch him in a specific set of time, you'll lose that life, in theory, this will be fun and challenging, but given the number of projectiles, annoying patterns and enemies that came out of nowhere it seems more like a cheating mechanic to make it more "challenging".
As I said before, this is not a Super Mario game, so you can't advance the stages at a speedy pace if you like, instead, you regularly find stages that put you in a platform that automatically navigates the stage while you avoid things, sometimes they're a little challenging but more often than not they're too boring, and if you for some reason die on any part, you have to restart from the very beginning, it may sound like I want an easy challenge or a lot of checkpoints but the fact that you have to wait instead of jumping and running in a platform, it really kills the mood. Although almost my entire time was painfully in this game, there are certain commendable things like the soundtrack, each song it's pretty good and has a lot of memorability and style, the only bad thing is that there are few songs, so you'll listen to them more than necessary.
The art direction is an obvious thing to praise, and with good reason, it is simply beautiful and stylish, not only the sprites are great but it seems that they recreate the concept art on point. Finally, the thing that I enjoyed the most, were the boss fights, they sweat creativity and exploit the particular art style to the point that makes you think how this game doesn't have more bosses than stages. As a little side note I loved stage 6-7 it felt quite a lot like a great platformer and it was challenging and fun, if only the other stages were more like it...
Sadly, Yoshi's Island wasn't what I've expected, at a glance at this review it may be that I didn't grasp the mechanics but I'm pretty sure that it was more a design issue, nonetheless, I can hardly recommend it to anyone who likes Super Mario games or platformers in general.

«Game over at last!»
I reasonably enjoyed this game. Nothing fancy or shiny. A very interesting and compelling story. At least the two main characters were interesting. Most of the side characters were forgettable. But the ending was pretty nuts and it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Who was the Bell Killer?!?
The game mechanics were neat. It's not too often where games give you wall clipping turned on by default! I did enjoy not having to retrace my steps to collect a hundred different items I had to skip because I didn't have the "upgrade" yet. Those games annoy me, to say the least. This one is fairly straight forward and linear. The clue finding and crime scene investigation mechanics were pretty lazy, though, when compared to the Arkham games or LA Noire.
Oh yeah, the enemy types was 1, if you don't include the black goop on the ground. I think it would have been more interesting if there were ANY other enemy types, but nope. Just the 1. They were kind of the joke to dispatch, too. The game would give you a hint saying "Gee, maybe you should sneak by them!" when it takes all of 3 seconds to get rid of one and then gives you the leisure of going wherever you want... Oh well!
Check it out. It's a cheap buy for a solid 10+ hours of entertaining story, at least. If you're looking for more of a challenge, go play Dark Souls.

All I ever want from 3D platformers is to follow the Banjo-Kazooie/Mario formula of combining fun and interesting gameplay with compact and dense worlds. Yooka-Laylee for some reason didn’t get that, but A Hat In Time does. Well worth buying.
