About

Evolve Stage 2 is a free-to-play team-based FPS developed by Turtle Rock Studios.

Set in the distant future, where the humans are able to colonize other planets. On a distant planet known as Shear, the humans are met with heavy alien resistance. William Cabot gets out of retirement to evacuate the colonists and assembles a team of Hunters in order to assist him in this.

Evolve Stage 2 is focused on asymmetric co-operative and competitive multiplayer. There are 5 players in a match, 4 of which are the Hunters. The Hunters have limited time to find the Monster, while the latter has to evolve and grow stronger. The Monster is given a 30-second advantage over the Hunters in order to escape and hide somewhere on the map.

Evolve Stage 2 features a class system with 4 classes present in the game. It is not possible for multiple players to use the same class in the match. Classes differ in their abilities and weapons. The same goes for the Monsters as there are five Monsters featured in the game. In contrast to the Hunters which are controlled from a first-person perspective, the game switches to a third-person camera while playing as a Monster.

Evolve Stage 2 reviews and comments

!!! This Review relates exclusively to the Monetization of the Game or the Policy of the Publisher!!! That's Why here-No Recommendation!!! Why? This Game was once developed or intended as an F2P Game. Until the Publisher wanted to sell it as a Full-price Title. This Game is pretty much The first Prototype of a Game Model that just hasn't been allowed to prevail ... You have to come up with the Idea ... 1) SELL F2P Title as a Full Price title. 2) Stug This with individual DLCs (Monster/Jäger) at overpriced Prices. 3) Despite the expensive DLCs, add an ITEMSHOP with SKINS for €3. It would actually only be 1 Subscription (Premium) for 9.90€/Month so that you can KUFER DARF half a Year earlier! And finished would be the Evolution of rip-offs ... What interests me: What would happen if the promised Maps were suddenly sold extra? There is no Return or Exchange Right With Digital Software. The reverse Scenario would also be conceivable: 20 Hunters, 5 Monsters and 1 To 2 maps per Year. What do you do then? If maps are simply not submitted? You don't have a Claim to a certain Number ... Questions about Questions ... I very much hope that the Publisher as well as the Developers will keep their Word on the Maps and that The above thoughts do not turn into Reality ... To me: I only played this Game in the Alpha and Beta! I'm not going to buy it, though, for The reasons mentioned above. I would even support a Boycott, precisely from them. Such "Evolutions" of Marketing should not make a School!!! Verdict: I wouldn't buy it, but that's left to everyone's own mind whether they necessarily want it or not ...

The DLC Policy is a big Hoax and a Middle Finger of the direction community shows. Edit from 12.02.2015: This Review refers to the current release Version. Since some People obviously can't see that with this Review I criticize the Monetization Concept (which is quite a crucial Part of the Overall Concept) and not the Graphic/Gaming implementation, I would like to take a closer look at my Motivations why I do NOT recommend the Game. 1. The DLC concept is a cheeky and I stick with it, I can't do anything for the fact that so many Players from EA and Consorts have been soft-boiled over the Years and no longer recognize when they are being ripped off. 2. The Main Reason why you should fight BACK NOW is basically simple. As Evolve has stirred up a lot of Dust in its long run, both under the Game press and The Player base, an enormous Focus is now on this Game. You have to imagine the current dozens of Devs/Publishers watching the Action And trying to learn from possible Successes. The Success and Money in this Case goes One-hand should be clear to everyone. So it is all the more serious that a €50 Full Prize title has been stuffed with DLC's and Microtransations because, if this Game succeeds, monetization success will also be taken over in the Future, and I assure you, with Money there are no Limits in brazenly. 3. Microtransations (no Matter what type!) and day one DLC's have lost nothing in a full price title!! I don't care how long this has been going on and whoever applies the same Principle, it's no Justification for imitation for Evolve. 4. People, this vexatious Statement "DLC it doesn't have to buy" is totally baseless in a Full Price title which throws around with day one dlc and Seasonpass in the first place. Without owning the Game myself, I can tell you, without DLC you don't have all the Cake and you don't have the full Game experience. I played the Game very well even after the release and I found it got boring very quickly, which is why I will never buy it for this Price. It is not in itself a bad Game and if you are totally convinced of it, you should buy it for God's sake, I would advise everyone else to do so. If you are still not convinced, I recommend this Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pRujOkqgzY
